Am going to Osaka today, and just checked in, they've given me another extra day there, so extended shopping is possible, instead of the next day departure. I myself am headed to Yodobashi Camera (www.yodobashi.com) for my stuff, and to check out any new electronics there.

If anyone's interested on anything Apple-related, or otherwise, PM me back, dont post them here. Big Brother's watching.

One of the things I'm looking for is this:-

, made by Rockridge, a Japanese manufacturer.

Sony Rolly. Works in tandem with the Bluetooth Sony Walkman I've just bought two weeks back, where I can stream the songs from the Sony Walkman, via Bluetooth, to the Rolly.

Interesting, but Yodabashi's online pricing isn't as cheap as the camera stores in NYC or Amazon surprisingly. I guess I'll pass this time around.

Thanks spring, enjoy your Osaka trip!

You mean J&R and B&H Photo? Oh man, you wouldnt know how much I wrestled with my want/need and the rational part of my brain, NOT to splurge like crazy while I was in Park Row (J&R) and Ninth Avenue (B&H).

Thanks, I will make sure I will. This time, it is more of a relaxing trip, rather than a shopping like crazy trip. tongue.gif

Yup, they've been out for a while in Japan. Only been recently cleared by the FCC for the American distribution, but still not on store shelves there.

Yes, I think B&H and Adorama has better choices and service than J&R, I never liked J&R unless it's for electronics and even then they tend to be overpriced sometimes. But I enjoy going to B&H, been a customer since the early 1990s.

Now the last time I was in Japan though it looked as if you need to haggle to get the best prices. And if you don't speak Japanese you're kinda out of luck...

Not until the "Big Boys" relinquish it to us again. The 747 guys have taken it back, because load has increased. Wait until winter pattern starts, then we may get it back. Pretty much spoiled they are, easy summer season, they get. Crazy winter season, with snowstorms and blizzard, then give it to us. doh.gif

You know how I yearn for another NTC experience, bro. The city truly does NEVER sleep. I miss Times Square and Rockefeller Center. cry.gif

The haggling part is correct if you shop in DenDen Town/Nipponbashi in Osaka, or Akiba/Akihabara in Tokyo, where shops are competing with each other to attract customers. If a single-store "ultra-mart" like Yodobashi, the price are relatively fixed. See how lah, I may drop by DenDen if I have time, but Yodobashi is so much more easier on the foot for me, it is all in one place. DenDen stretches for miles!

Added on September 1, 2008, 5:23 pmBut seriously, if anyone got anything to look for in Japan, Apple-related or otherwise, this is your chance. The iClooly, I'll most definitely try and get for myself.

Sorry Tink dear, it is all in Yapon. I was lucky last time to even get one of their attendants to speak a little bit of Engrish. laugh.gif

But Yaponese toilets are super awesome. Bidet and lush streams of water jet caressing your bottom, like silk. Even have control panel for their toilets! shocking.gif
