So...Ruff Bark is no more!

That's correct. The new 80GB PS3 'Core Pack' was only recently made available in Asia.

I'm informed that the PS3 microsite should be updated in about an hour's time. So tonight we should see some news. Otherwise maybe by tomorrow~

I'm also told that those who leave the gaming line for the game competition for too long will be disqualified from the competition, so the issue of those who line up for the competition getting an unfair advantage on the early bird special shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, when we first got the news, it was tentatively RM1,699. But the price has since then been revised to RM1,799. You'll also note that the number of cash vouchers given away has been increased to 120, and the bundle also includes more items too.

Although it is unfortunate that some of our regular readers may not be aware of the new revised price, at least the difference is only off by RM100. Not to mention that our readers at least has a confirmation of the place and date of the event.

I don't know, but I'm assuming (note: "assuming" as I haven't spoken to my contact yet) that there should be enough to accommodate those who want to buy the bundled units without queuing up for the cash voucher. Sony Malaysia should be experienced enough to estimate the number of units to bring to the launch event.

The bundle comes with 1 (ONE) DS3 controller.

If in doubt, please check the 1st official press release that I had initially posted. It CLEARLY says that the new PS3 to be launched in Malaysia comes with the DS3 controller. Yes, the website info is a little inaccurate, but I believe it's just a simple error.

Frankly speaking, I'm getting a little tired of explaining the same thing over and over. Aiyoh, it wouldn't make sense for Sony to bundle an outdated controller with a new unit...

If I'm not mistaken, it should be at the Guest Drop Off / Taxi stand in front of U Parkson and Giant (aka, the New Wing). There's a little outdoor area there where some events are sometimes held there. A few months back, the Indie Youth Fest also took place there with local bands playing just outside there. I'll try get more info tomorrow if this area is indeed where the launch is going to take place.

The first page actually has all of the latest info. jehutyz has been doing a great job updating it. jehutyz, perhaps you can update the title to include the words "(read first post for more info!)" so that people can refer to your post?

1) What HDMI cable? When did I ever post about the bundle coming with an HDMI cable??? The press release that I posted stated that the PS3 comes with an HDMI output, not cable.

2) That's rather strange. Probably another mistake. Will notify Sony Malaysia tomorrow.

All PS3s can play games from any region. HOWEVER, the Blu-ray movies that you can play are region-specific.

A little update. These are the online pre-sale bundle details:

80GB + 1 SOULCALIBUR IV + 1 selected games + Blu-ray disc.

Same price of RM1,799, but only limited to 20 packages.

Yes, it's the new 80GB model. Just check the first post for more info. No need to read through 40 pages.

Since the release of the 40GB PS3s back in October 2007, all of the newer models come with the 65nm Cell processor.

I believe the site to pre-order online should be up soon. If they put it up now, it'll surely be snapped up within the next few days...

Sony Style Malaysia offers free nationwide delivery for purchases above RM200. So if you pre-order online, I suppose you'll get the PS3 delivered to your doorstep.

There's only 120 bundles, not 150. It's only limited to the early birds who queue up on the day of the Malaysia launch.

Actually from what I understand, the special launch RM1,799 bundle may only be limited to 120 units...

Also another confirmation: the launch will take place at the area that I previously mentioned: the Guest/Taxi drop-off point in front of the new wing at UParkson/Giant.

I'm told that there will be other games available for sale on that day...but the list of titles is secret. :/

I'll be there by default to cover the event.

Anybody seriously coming that early on midnight? If so, I'll drop by to take pictures.
