Using the noctua now and the cooling performance of this beast is awesome, true that it might be slightly expensive..but what they bundle are some high quality silent fans.. smile.gif recommended heatsink
*
But the thing I'm quite puzzled is... based on the synthetic test of frostytech, the Xigmatek which cost 1/2 slightly edges over the Noctua hmm.gif

Was advised to get the Gemini Spire instead of the Xigmatek DK, but based on frostytech.com the DK seem to have better performance... but if look at the HSF design, the Spire Gemini has dual fan, 6 heat pipes! But somehow performance not as good as the DK?

unqeualtek, what kind of temp are you getting on your Spire? idle vs full load.

If I were to overclock i5 3570k to 4.5ghz for 24/7 with MSI Z77 board, suggest any good air cooler? Is Hyper 212 EVO more than enough?

i believe the air flow in ur casing only will affect the performance..

HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL MOUNTING:
Reference 1>> http://www.overclock.net/t/727852/question...s-vertically/10
Reference 2>> http://www.overclock.net/t/1199135/hyper-2...cal-positioning

at first i thought about the effect of gravity on the liquid inside the heatpipes, but then both tests seems to point out that HORIZONTAL mounting being the better choice;
the result from Reference 2 also shows that removing the rear case fan would actually show better temp.

maybe i should do some tests and share the results after i installed my heatsink hmm.gif

theoretically YES. Dark Knight heatsink is 159cm tall, TT-V3 maximum heatsink height is 160cm. my friend's V3 can fit Hyper 212 which is same height as Dark Knight.

Guys, any recommendations for air-cooler in a bitfenix prodigy with gigabyte h77n-wifi motherboard?

My CM Hyper 101 is sounding like a vacuum with my new I5-3570

Was wondering if its the intel TIM problem or the 3 year old Tuniq TX-3 i found laying around and used hmm.gif

Any recommendations for 80mm fan to replace the one on the heatsink?
