QUOTE(andrekua @ Jan 9 2010, 07:06 PM) Anyone using Hyper 212+ with E8400/8500 c0? Nothing wrong with that, i had the same E8500 C0 processor and using Hyper 212+ too.I was previously using OEM cooler from Coolermaster (those annoying 4000RPM *******). Had my E8500 overclocked to 3.8GHz with 1.25v and temp at full load is around 72~75C depending on weather. Case is closed with one intake and one outtake fan. Now fitted 212+ with dual fan configuration. Due to heatsink too tall, I didnt close my casing but effectively unable to use any intake or outtake fan. I overclocked slightly more to 4GHz (422x9.5) with 1.35v (but showing 1.30v only @ full load). Temp at full load is kinda high @ 65C max (without a/c). Did I do anything wrong? I feel the temp is kinda high though. I did try lower the Vcore by 0.5v in the bios and it cools down a lot but unable to pass Prime. Is my temp normal, within range? I thought I should be getting 40-50C max with it. Temp around 70+ÂșC at 3.8Ghz with auto settings on Linpack stress. Voltage around 1.25V or 1.28V, not so sure. |

hyper 212+ is not really a powerful cooler ler.. thats why its being sold at such low prices :/
even with s1283... can go 478X9 @ 1.32v with e8400 .. temp also rarely touching 70C (can check out my friend's system under s1283 with the e8400) |

QUOTE(Agultiamat @ Jan 23 2010, 11:16 AM) yup here you go....... temps can be affected by your contact and also thermal paste spreadingAdded on January 23, 2010, 11:21 ambro.. i am using sunbeam core contact freezer... also used tuniq x-2 thermal paste errrr.. i look at other people they able to maintain lower temp such under 30c by using phenom II 550... but y ia cannot get the same temp ya? idle for me is 39-41.... but i din unlock or oc... just used the stock speed... any idea? applying too much or too little can reduce its effectiveness and the idle temp dont really care la cos not all procs of the same type is gonna idle at the same temp u can jaga the load temp then can liao QUOTE(captvizcenzo @ Jan 23 2010, 07:04 PM) Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme vs Thermalright Ultima-90i those two cooler are of different class actuallywhich is better in terms of performance and value? the ultima 90-i is considered somewhere near top of mid end while the tower extreme is considered high end cooler |

QUOTE(captvizcenzo @ Jan 19 2010, 12:34 AM) I know that TRUE cannot fit for sure when the side panel fan is installed. even without the side panel fan, it's a very tight squeeze. but tuniq is about 10mm shorter than TRUE, so I'm very sure it will fit without the side panel fan. side panel fan on wise, i'm not sure. |

Have a Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition with Asus M4A77TD PRO motherboard in a Cooler Master Elite Series case. Stock heat sink fan is terribly noisy and I'm thinking of replacing it with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus for lower temps + less noise. I'm worried about the contact surface not being smooth though. Any thoughts? Also, do I need additional products like thermal paste, etc.?

Also, do I need additional products like thermal paste, etc.? u dont need to worry about the contact surface being smooth cos normally they will form it to the best shape to contact with ur proc...the thing u need to pay attention to is by checking the tightness of ur fitting when installing the heatsink to ur mobo.... tight fitting is a sign of the heatsink contacting well with the proc as for thermal paste normally they will provide u.... and u can source for some nice thermal paste if u want...those thermal paste normally gives u a performance increase of a few degree c better than stock ones i long time didnt update new thermal paste performance liao so i cannot rekomen liao |
