Will increased airflow inside a casing give a significant drop in temperature? I'm considering changing the 3 stock gigabyte casing fans for delta fans, just wondering if the temperature decrease is significant enough to make up for the noise.

it depends. if your fan orientation in the casing doesnt help the airflow, putting a performance fan like delta wouldnt help your temp also. I think the only way to test if there is a significant different is by opening your side panel making it half naked.

usually when your casing is half naked, it improves the air flow a lil. so from there you could make your comparison. but if u can stand the noise, i think there is no reason why u shouldnt get those delta fans tongue.gif

from my experience, opening my elite 330 casing will significantly reduce the all systems temp.my e8400 stock voltage, from 55C idle down to 48-50C idle. =.="

maybe he's using stock cooler?my e8400 b4 oc and on stock voltage idle 33-35c with my current cooler.after oc idle went up to 39-40c.

btw nt recommend to open ur casing hlaf naked la,unless u rly no choice (which is the case with my previous prescott).bcoz open up side will invite more dust,in the end will hamper ur airflow as well

sd963/964 is 110-130 i think...but its best to go for better ones...coz all you need is another 20-30 ringgit more like the sunbeam CCF
or the S1283 these..you can use the bling fans...or go for red scorpion and achiellies s1284 which also comes with bling fans

Just now..I removed one of my Cooler Master 90CFM fans to replace the screws with rubber screws, and I realized that the fan is kinda oily/greasy..

Any idea why is it greasy??

Btw, the rubber screws didn't work..I can feel my casing vibrating due to the fan's speed lolz!

I'm confused which one should I get?
CCF or S1283 or Red Scorpion?

greasy i think its due to the exposure of greasy/oily enviroment. your pc is place near to your kitchen or anything that cause greasy stuff?

shouldnt be a problem fitting....ive seen a sunbeam CCF fitted in it as well...tho honestly the tip of the heatpipes are almost touching the side panel

which part of the fan is greasy? coz almost any fan out there..the centre piece where the sticker is...is always greasy...that is suppose to lubricate the motor

The blades and the frame of the fan are greasy. I suspect that its the grease which is used to lubricate the motor..

CCF pushpins are a little different...i dont think that its that bad...since so many in this thread uses them
besides CFF you can use S1283 with SS kit.....i wont recon the archilies..coz that in the other hand might not fit in your CM elite(you have to leave your side cover open)
red scorpion is basically S1283...but will cost more with the LED fans...so i'd recon if your budget is tight..better go for S1283 with SS kit thumbup.gif

btw..if you want something cleaner...why not go liquid? im going to change mine to liquid soon already (prolly today itself coz the kit arrive dy) sweat.gif.....(does this mean that im barred from this thread sad.gif )

true..and a little more maintainence are required as compared to heatsink fan....i went ahead for the thermaltake bigwater...but got heartbroken when i read the reviews after purchasing XD....im doing the leak test now..hopefully it will work as good as my arctic freezer 7 pro or better....gonna do some lapping later...

anyways..if you want hassle free...air-cooling is still the best cooling solution for budget and performance

CCF's push pin is very much easier to remove and install compare to intel's push pins. Intel's one need to use a screw driver and twist it while CCF doesnt
