Hi, from my research and personal experience. I found out that there are many doctors who claim that they can do double eyelids. Most are non-specialists without any postgraduate qualifications and very inconsistent results. Some are aesthetic doctors in aesthetic centres but don't have much experience in doing actual surgery. The worst are the ones in beauty salons where non qualified china doctors are flown in to do the operation and then disappear when problems happen.

The reliable doctors are those who are actually specialists-- either an eye specialist or plastic surgeon. Aesthetic doctors are not specialists with full time experience in surgery. There is actually a type of eye specialist that specializes in plastic surgery around the eyes, they are called oculoplastic surgeons. These are doctors who are eye specialists by training, and undergo further training in plastic surgery only concentrating around the eyes. So when they do the operation, the health and protection of the eye is their main concern.

My mother's friend went for eyebag operation by plastic surgeon, after the operation her eyes cannot close-- after that major eye problems, plastic surgeon also cannot do anything, in the end refer to oculoplastic surgeon who had to do the corrective surgery. Super regret.

My advice, go to the pro-- plastic surgeon concentrate on the whole body, oculoplastic surgeon only concentrates on the eyes and primary concern in the end is to maintain the health of the eyes. It's quite easy to check the doctor's qualifications, at the very least just make sure that it is a specialist that touches your eyes.
