imo, it creates blank icons on your springboard.

1) Let' say you install Blank 10.
2) After installing, hold any icons for a few seconds.
3) The screen will shake and from there you can see those blank icons are bind with the (X) symbol.
4) You can then arrange your icons accordingly without worrying about the auto-arrange.
