Not actually, ppl here in Sarawak, mostly if want travel from like Kuching to Miri, we use plane, most of our transportation to other part of Sarawak is through plane or bus(which take a long long time to reach the destination most of the time), that why, some ppl here never ride on a plane. Having MRT at Sarawak due to Singapore have MRT is like saying that Sarawak have LRT because KL also LRT,

Look at Sarawak ppl now, mana ada complain that much right?? KL got LRT and west Malaysia got lebuhraya and such, we never did say we need it, hahaha.

Plus, we dont need to travel from town to town or city to city. It like how KL ppl dont always go to Penang or Johor.
