Disable auto update prompt in iTunes

Hi all,
any idea how to disable iTunes auto update prompt when I plug in my iphone for synching? I have to click on cancel everytime and possible 1 day may accidently *gulp* update it and wiping my jailbroken phone.

For iTunes 7.7 go to Edit => Preferences => uncheck "Check for updates automatically"

After you unchecked the thingy, you don't need to worry it will auto update for you.
If you checked the auto update, it will update it automatically when you plug in your iPhone.
You just have to cancel the update it if prompt out better than you saw "Your iPhone is up to date, will auto update at 2or few days later." I think that's the only way to cancel auto update. (Correct me if i am wrong) I couldn't find any other options in preference(s) or else where in iTunes 7.7.

True, cause the 1st time when it prompt the 'update' message, I replied no to it and checked do not prompt me this again as per suggestion by another forumer.
But it still prompt back again everytime I plugged in... hopefully one I don't go silly and click on update lol
