avast! the free version sux la...cant even schedule the scanning. after that, it cannot do certain task automatically during scanning, like quarantine/delete the virus that it found
NOD32 is good....if u try to download a file that contain virus, it will stop the download before the download is finish. |

QUOTE(Silon @ May 31 2005, 06:10 PM) hmmm hey, maybe u can check ur systems task schedule and change the frequency of norton's liveupdate? nonono....i mean, they only update the virus database for live update once a week. cpkid i agree... when u know more and more stuff about computers, you'll run away from norton. i dont know why, ive been 'purging' so many computers of viruses and spyware... even though their norton AV is the latest update, alot of viruses cannot be removed by it... the funny thing was it even entered the system in the 1st place... ive clean their computers and installl MS antispyware [for its auto scanning] and mcafee for them... never hear from them again (which is good, cauz it means no more problesm QUOTE The Intelligent Updater is updated daily, while the LiveUpdate definitions are usually updated weekly. During a major threat outbreak, however, the LiveUpdate definitions are updated as needed. Many of the definitions that are added to the daily (Intelligent Updater) definitions are not in the wild, or if they are, they have a very low incidence of infection. So, while the Intelligent Updater may provide a slightly greater level of protection for a few days (until the zoo and low-level threats are added to the weekly LiveUpdate definitions), for most customers, the protection that is provided by LiveUpdate is more than adequate.. Intelligent Updater = manual update |
