i m seeking for advise from guitarist out there.

current i m facing a problem with my guitar, Baby Taylor.
i never been using it for many years and it was kept in the soft bag all this while.

lately, when i take it out and i realize that the back of guitar body is abit sticky.
why isit happen? isit because of humidity? is there any solution to it?

my fren planned to buy this n would like to hav a look at it.. sigh!

sticky like oil? I think the satin layer came out. And if so, you've stored the guitar somewhere hot.

Is it sticky like oil in the first place?

yeah, some pics can help too

but the baby taylor should be shinny because it's a satin finish, not gloss

yea, u r right..it is shinny at the back..so i dont think u can see any different with the photo.

also because it doesnt look sticky but feel sticky when i touch it...is like a layer of oil stain for very long..until dust can stick on it...

eh...sorry...I mean that it should not be shinny because it's a satin finish.

Satin finish is not shinny...If it's shinny like oil, then the satin layer has come out. If so, I think you can DIY by buying a satin spray and spray it back...I think only so if anything goes wrong don't blame me. Anyone else can reassure TS?

I don't recommend finishing your guitar, especially if it's an acoustic.Have you tried rubbing the sticky layer away with your finger?Maybe use lighter fluid with a soft cloth on the layer.

i have tried rubbing it with finger...and it seems like i m rubbing off a layer...
it is kinda obvious..so, i stop peeling it off coz i afraid will damage the wood or worsen it cry.gif

Don't worry. When you peel, you're peeling the satin layer, not the wood.
