I don't know about riffs and all those musical terms but In Flames - Man Made God sounds pretty sweet happy.gif.

I felt A7X peaked at Waking the fallen, City of evil was a cute somewhat copy of past GnR albums, but that was expected since they were under the same guy who trained Axl Rose while recording that album(methinks).

On a totally other note, does anyone here listen to Avantasia?

Agreed. Waking the fallen > All other A7x albums. Used to be a big time A7X fan in the Waking the Fallen/City of Evil days but pretty much stopped listening to them after their self titled album and didn't even bother trying out their latest album ~___~ .

I guess its the same with the other sub-genres. Look at what happened to A7X or Bullets for my valentine, their latest albums sound like the kind of screamo that Simple Plan fanboys would listen to... Talk about selling out...

No wonder my Faber Drive loving brother came up to me that day saying how much he and his friends love A7X now >_< .

Yeah alot pf bands getting more and more to the fanboyism trend. I guess we cant blame them because its very difficult to make a living as a hardcore metal musician. If they enjoy what they are playing and they have a wide fanbase, its good for them.

Fanboyism trend? You mean selling out? Changing because they really felt like they wanted a change/widen their range is fine, on the other hand changing to increase record sales...not so great. Especially if it means changing for the worse (which is usually the case).
