This album is not about metal anymore,its about their soul toward the music & this is the album that have all their bands mate works on lyrics+music.

Actually, the new Slipknot is more metal than the previous albums. I'm too lazy to write an essay but the short story is this:

It's definitely the most metal-sounding Slipknot, but overall, it's a more varied, more evenly spaced album, so I guess that's the reason why people are somewhat confused, and that they think less fast songs = not metal.

This is their single off the new album, pretty catchy beat though.. I like it.

im not sure about top selling, coz thats not the point, especially for death metal bands (maybe sepultura, back in max cavalera's days). but if most influential, i would say morbid angel, death, deicide (did i spell it right?) are among top ten. this is just my opinion tho

Their earlier albums are blackened death/black metal (Osculum Obscenum - Hypocrisy)

Catch22 is more a Melodeath/Nu-metal/industrial metal abum.

Virus is pure melodeath album, but still got industrial metal influence.
