can i download anywhere else on my PC? I dont want to download using PS3

and i have to download without pauses?

can't recall whether u can dloads it on the background
need to confirm this with others

from my knowledge yes you can download in background. same like with demos.

are you sure there's a download? From what I read it will be immediately available, which means all those past updates probably had pieces of Home included in them.

Home Open Beta for US PSN will be available after 8pm our time. Basically it will be down for 2 hrs from 6pm to 8pm.

Those in close beta will receive a new patch V1.03, while new home users will find a new icon on their XMB under playstation store. Do reset you PS3 if you don't see the home icon.

Well, depending on which region PSN you sign up, you might be in US or Asian or Japan home server.

So its best to state what region is your PSN ID because home is region locked. And you can't travel to other home servers except to friends list home space.

Just some information for new home users:

Home servers via Playstation Network:

1. USA
2. UK
3. Asia - Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Korea.
4. Japan

So again it depends on which country you sign up in PSN.

if just a software to takes up space in for the sake of virtual space, even it's free, i will rather go out meet real friends in real space.. not virtual space with virtual friends

just like second life, unless u got no life in the real life, u can go for Home in PS3.. virtual life..

for that, i will skip this enhancements even if it is finally released. just not worth the space in my hdd, IMO.

How big does it takes up the HDD? They released the beta only, damn dumb.
