The government tax (called by them service charge) is now 6%. There are two criteria possible:
- exceed a certain amount of sale (mentionned in this post). This amount is quite high so only the big restaurant chain should charge.
- or have a liquor license. This is the case for me. We must apply the 6% rate on ALL the products sold by our bar, even the food and the soft drinks. Every two months must must fill a document for the Customs.
The service charge (10%) mentioned on the receipts is different. This can be considered as tip for the staff. These 2 extra charges must be clearly displayed in the menu and the prices should have the "+" or "++" mentioned too.
