Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 Now Available ( Internet Explorer8Beta2现在提供 )

We’re excited to release IE8 Beta 2 today for public download. You can find it at http://www.microsoft.com/ie8. Please try it out!

You’ll find versions for 32- and 64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008. In addition to English, IE8 Beta 2 is available in Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), and German. Additional languages will be available soon.

While Beta 1 was for developers, we think that anyone who browses or works on the web will enjoy IE8 Beta 2. Before the team blogs about our Beta 2 in detail, here’s an overview of what you’ll find in IE8.

We focused our work around three themes: everyday browsing (the things that real people do all the time), safety (the term most people use for what we’ve called ‘trustworthy’ in previous posts), and the platform (the focus of Beta 1, how developers around the world will build the next billion web pages and the next waves of great services).

Everyday Browsing

We looked very hard at how people really browse the web. We looked at a lot of data about how people browse and tried a lot of different designs in front of many kinds of people, not just technologists. As tempting as it is to list here all the changes both big and small in IE8, we’ll take a more holistic approach. That’s how we built the product and how we’d like to talk about it.

From our customer research, we saw that the bulk of user activity outside of web pages involved tabs and “navigation” – the act of getting to the site the user wants to get to. We also knew that adding features has an impact only if they’re “in the flow” of how people actually use the product. Another menu item might matter in a checklist on a blog somewhere, but won’t matter to real people browsing. That’s why IE8’s New Tab experience is so remarkable: it’s obvious – after you see it:

lowyatnet forum looks cacat with ie 8 beta 2 when scrolling that time

use the "compatibility view" then the "cacat" will go away...lol

not worth the upgrade just yet... my Mcafee went bonkers after installing IE8 beta 2.

as for the beta testers it's worth after a while before the final release.

Yeah, I can see that. The scrolling was not as smooth as Firefox or Opera browser.

Improving well enough. But I can't understand why the address bar so empty. Much better than Beta 1 as if I wanted to use classic rendering, I had to restart IE. Now, its on-the-fly.

my ie8 beta crash with i right click on the image.
and i saw others people also having others problem...

I can feel that the browser is faster than FF.

I also like the fact that it can restore previous session which crashed. Something like FF. Darn. FF3 is going to have some stiff competition.

but faster than IE7

Is this version very buggy or stable ???

i think will use it after final release..this beta quite unstable and not work smooth on my computer..very slow when opened it..

I dare not use this Beta version. Tried it before and it messed my IE 7.

im opposing with ur situation. i only have to wait 1 secs for it to appear n loaded.

I'm trying it out now, but find it not very friendly. I prefer IE7 and may switch back to it soon.

waa..that's weird..did u change ur IE configuration?

prefer ie 7 and firefox..and also..google chrome..

always crashes after browsing for quite sometimes..the best part is downloading flv or any videos from webpages (with IDM) with the video names unlike firefox, numbers..

prefer ff than ie. firefox still rock

when is the final release??

it is a bit laggy.n it will make my comp to pop the send or dont sent error message/

Not a big fan of IE, FF still my no1 choice.

I love it. really. Other than some quirks (hey, it IS beta) there is nothing much that I can complain about it. The Pornrestricted mode means that I can surf without fear anyone seeing where I've went
Also it runs in sandbox mode in Vista, thus safer, even than using FF lol

overall FF is the best.... when google chrome is out... it pawns!!!

How do you uninstall IE8 B2 from Windows Vista? I try to search in the uninstall program list but couldn't find it.

wonder if anyone has problem logging into forums like lyn with ie 8 beta2?
seems i cannot log in!! but firefox works fine.

yes it has a billion bugs
crashes with lowyat every 3 tabs opened

same here...multiple tabs cause crashes...not a good browser to use at the moment

IE8 alot of bug, i try it before few day last time. Uninstall already. Many websites don't support it and slower then ie7

dont dare to try..

I just uninstalled IE8 and revert back to V7. Fedup lah!.. as I find it freezes on some websites like TheStar website. Reckon its compatibility problem on certain scripts or what nots..
Google Chrome?... Not bad at all, although lack of some features but even in beta is more stable.
From past experience, I find M/S IE in beta always have most irritating bugs compared to other beta browsers.

it works fine with me...its good better thank ie7...smooth...4th day im using ie8 beta2...so far so good..

Can some of you share your bugs? Mine is fine. I can log in from IE8. No problems.

me too.i seems to get all this kinds of error.the program is not responding.please send the report error.

I agree that the scroll is not smooth. But right clicking on the image does not hang my IE8.

Got it for quite some times already...nothing much to shout about except the inprivate option. At times i need to turn on the compatibility mode to view some pages properly

If you want a fast and stable browser, use Mozilla Firefox3!!! Why bother with a beta release even the final release version is unstable?

thx for the update but i guess mozilla firefox suits me better.......

using IE 8 for a few months already. So far, stable, no issues, only cannot display LYN site properly. What I like is it gives a different color for different website on a different tab.

THe best thing is, If one tab, not responding , IE will only close that specific tab, not all tab that forces you to restart IE, unlike IE 7 -this features is the same with Google Chrome

Hi all. I have IE7 with Vista Ultimate 64bit, and yeah it died on me. No matter how I reset it, safe mode, reboot in safe mode, it died literally. I installed IE8 beta, it loads, but doesn't load the page.

At the verge of giving up hope like 2 months, today I randomly looked around and clicked on IE 64bit version. = = Guess what it works perfectly. WTF.

So what, 32bit browser crashes on me, 64bit works flawlessly? (besides the flash compatibility for 64bit environment).

Anyone have any idea why is this happening?

IE itself is sux, & IE8 is still beta.
i suggest other u to use other browser like opera, chome or FF3.

I'm a Firefox and Chrome browser user as well.

And yeah when the other two crashes I still have to rely on IE.
