I recently purchased a Nintendo Wii US Version (modded) . I would really really really appreciate it if someone could take some time to answer a few questions:

1. Is it safe to "update" my console (Im not sure how to phrase this but it asks if I want to update it when I go to Wii Settings and I go online through wireless)
The reason I ask this is because my wii is modded and im not sure how updating will effect the console

2. Can I play games against other players online (via wifi) using *ahem* games?

3. Can my console play Original Games ?

4. What actually happens to my console when I try playing PAL / JAP games ?

5. How do i check what modchip is being used :S When i asked the shop owner he said "lateset one latest one"

Oh so I can play JAP and PAL games on my US wii ? the shop owner said it will "break my system" and most threads on this forum say that US version is to play NTSC games only..
