hmmm.smile.gifi want to ask whether dell offer a 3 year international warranty for all dell notebook such as inspiron, latitude, xps, studio, vostro n etc...?cause i going oversea next year n would like to have an international warranty for it.
*
studio xps carries international warranty and i think xps should has the same. for inspiron it's depends on which country, my brother previous inspiron only carries warranty for certain countries.

Hmmm...if its international warranty, why the other guy said its only within asia pacific?or the asia pacific warranty is only for other model like inspiron latitude but the sxps carry international warranty or the international warranty u mean is within asia pasific only?
*
My sxps16 carries this "SRVCINTI - International Support For Notebooks" which written in my quotation and order description. My brother previous inspiron carries a different code and something like "Regional Support Within Asia Pacific Countries". So i guess it's depends on different model, or maybe different support plan. Call to confirm is the best way.

If I'm not mistaken, yes it does come with the aforementioned GPU; it's more powerful at handling games then the Studio XPS's HD3670. For a rough estimation on how that GPU fare, head over to NotebookCheck.net.
*
there's some ranking problem on notebookcheck.net regarding HD4570 and HD3670. if you clicked into it and compare the 3dmark06 score you will see HD3670 leading by more than 1500 marks. notebookcheck.net put up that ranking right after HD4000 series released, before they got the chance to test the HD4570 and in my opinion they didnt update the rank after they tested them.

anyway even it's 1500 marks higher, it didn't means that it can play all game smoothly. it still considered as a moderate gaming laptop, so i suggest you take the studio 15 since all the other spec looks the same except the gpu.

I purchase at Rm 4927 and upgrade system with RM360.
They send me a list with price RM 4356 in DHL express. I call to customer care they said it's RM 4927.
I said my upgrade ald integrated in my system it's unable to remove ~
so now waiting they reconsider the price ~

I wish not to refund but compensate with that faulty ~ what ever since they decide full refund ~
*
glad you got your refund. wish you luck on the new laptop and hope you inspect every inch for scratches before you get your new laptop, which is the origin of your problem that made your laptop been operated plenty of times.

haha~ now waiting customer care to confirm.
haiz ~ dont know which brand to go ~ ppl said benQ.
Actually is not only scratches, the gap and palm rest is my main problem. they fix the scratches ald ~
*
i remember you dont have the gap and palm rest problem at first, it's because they change the lcd or what and operate your laptop dunno how many times only lead to that problem right?

if you're looking for performance laptop and don't mind the design, benq seems to be a great choice.

will be getting my studio xps 1640. Hmm , just wanna ask , i'll be going to new zealand for studying.. what warranty i shud take? the normal one offered the 1 year complete cover and premium ? will be taking the RM 4799 wan.
*
the warranty of sxps 16 is covered in new zealand and yes the standard one is 1-year XPS Premier Service with 1-year CompleteCover. this one is more than enough and if you want it to be longer for example 3 years, try order your laptop through the phone and get the 3-year XPS Premier Service with 3-year CompleteCover which is a little bit cheaper than the Dell Care Premium. though i'm not sure what makes the Dell Care Premium more expensive.

since you getting it now, try upgrade your laptop to more than 5k and use the rm500 rebate coupon that available recently.

sxps16 has international support and i think the complete cares cover the whole asia pacific.

Added on May 10, 2009, 12:08 pmlooks like ill just have to stick to s57

You can just upgrade the laptop to the price of 5k and use the 500 rebate, and it'll probably become 4.5k which is only 100 more than your budget.

QUOTE(astria @ May 11 2009, 09:00 PM)
correction:
1) PM45 supports 8GB DDR2 as well... i dunno why OEMs like to put max 4GB only... (in fact, even the older PM965 chipset also)

however, some of the pts are debatable as well...

1) C2D T9000 series... a 35W CPU... meaning less battery life compared to the slight (but hardly noticable) weaker P8000 series (25W)
2) DDR3 brings no significant performance gain comapred to DDR2 besides the lower working voltage (1.5/1.6V VS 1.8V). that itself, imho, does not justify the extra cost
3) Wireless WiFi Link 5300, spec wise it's indeed better than 5100 (max 450Mbps vs max 300Mbps), but u need a compatible Draft-N router in order to schieve that speed... most Draft-N router are stil working at 300Mbps...
4) Speakers... on paper the audio system of SXPS16 looks nice... but compared to a set of rm100 multimedia speaker system, it's nothing to boast abt...

i am not saying all these are redundant... it's all up to the user's choice... do away with all these, and SXPS16 is a nice machine to buy, aespecially with Dell's excellent service...

i ve been hunting for laptops lately, and SXPS is on my list as well... if not for a better choice (Asus N81Vp), i would ve probably grabbed SXPS...
*
1. most probably because of the total ram slot within the laptop.
1. although T series consume more power but if you really want to compare in term of performance, it still take the lead.
4. it's still better right? biggrin.gif

anyway the real advantage of sxps16 is the lcd which no where the benq able to outperform it. the benq might be better on gaming, but sxps16 will win hands down in term of movies.

plus for those who actually render 3d stuff, higher processor is more important than the hd4650 gpu.

well. erm. for lowyat retailer. don't buy from JustPC or the one at the entrance. They're not professional and not honest.

Hmm. Just a lil' question here, if compare gaming performance, Studio 1555 with HD 4570 and Studio XPS 16 with HD 3670, who wins?
*
The hd4570 from studio 15 is one step slower than hd3670 based on 3dmark06.

i think you guys wanted to compare the HD3670 from sxps 16, not the HD3650 right? that one scoring nearly 5k to me.

Hm.. why talking about the HD3650 when it's not used here?

if you're really think dell is that bad on customer service, you're consider lucky you didnt buy alienware directly from them before it's owned by dell. google alienware customer service and you'll know how bad is their support. you might even more pissed off considering your troubles given from oversea.

Is dell services is as gud as all people said???
*
it's rated good because they will come and repair your laptop in front of you if anything goes wrong instead of you go to find them.

for dackson's case, nah no comment on that.

haha, guys, Studio XPS got "downgraded" and is grouped together with Studio in Dell UK and US website

XPS and Alienware are in the same group now... laugh.gif
*
at least sxps has a studio name there right? wonder who will buy m1530 which listed more expensive there in US.

since they also grouped adamo together with xps/alienware, it's not 100% grouped based on performance.
