it's 9600m gt but it's the ddr2 version which from various review out there slower than hd3670 in sxps 16.

since you opened it did you notice that there's some cable being folded and put under the touchpad? i suspect it's that cable that block the airflow which makes it so hot on that part.

o.. that's not really what i mean.. i mean the one directly under touchpad but above of the wlan card, need to be opened together with the whole keyboard and speaker.

it's done by dell technician when changing the whole upper case for me when my speaker got problem. the cable kinda looks like mini version of ide cable but it's too long which caused it to be folded.

you shouldn't really compare a graphic card based on window score, that really didnt make much sense on real gaming. example the 3dmark06 of sxps13 gets around 3.4k (based from review might be wrong) while sxps16 gets around 4.8k. some graphics card will get more than 10k but it's still around 5 to 6 on window score because 5.9 (if not wrong or 6) is the highest already.

izzit just me because weather getting cooler here in oversea or the new bios actually improve the overheating problem? not that it's cool now but at least the touchpad is not as hot comparing last time in normal usage.

maybe.. but i just feel that the touchpad is not as hot as before. anyone updated their bios can clarify this?

it should be comparable only. laptop gpu cant really compete desktop gpu even with the same model name.

din try dmc4 with this laptop yet, but din get any problem with other game like crysis (more demanding i guess). playing fear2 now using almost full high setting and no problem so far.

25fps on 1280x720 and 30fps on 1024x768 with medium-high setting (texture, object and shader high).

loose cable in the laptop? it happens when the technician opened mine and didnt connect it properly.

not sure what game is that but gaming around 70c is normal for laptop with dedicated gpu, you should know some gpu can reach over 100c.

you can play smoothly for the games you listed, but if you expected to play crysis at high/extra high you should look for other laptop. the sound blaster thing is a software only and you can download it from dell's website but not sure can you install it.

seriously you got to be kidding me.. i mentioned this before, dmc4 is not a very gpu demanding game at all, and it's way behind crysis if you want to compare.

a desktop 9600gt can easily play devil may cry 4 at super high setting, not to mention a desktop hd4870. i remember you can even see videos in youtube of a desktop hd3870 playing dmc4 in super high setting with AA turning on. either your friend's pc got problem, if not i really dun see why a hd4870 can't play it in that setting.

P/S: i have included some benchmark screenshot that i found from this forum to show you the truth. please stop saying something that are not true. you do know the ranking S does not means SLOW right?



i know it's a bit out of topic but just want to make this guy clear as he keep mentioning this stupid thing again and again. although i have not tried dmc4 in this laptop but it works at high setting on my old desktop with only 7600gt which is slower than hd3670 here. so i dun see why you cant play it.

i *think* you cant install that sound blaster thingy if you din buy it.

devil may cry from my post above shows you that it's not really that high gpu required. i'm sure you can play it smoothly, maybe not the super high setting and not turning AA on.

there's no available discount coupon right now.

i got a bad feeling that no matter what brand you going for in the end you will faced all these problem again (no offence bro). you're complaining too much and most of the problems didn't even exist at all, all created by your so called friends. you might be lucky dell technician go to your house for the repair, imagine other brand that you need to go to the service center.

because of your complains your laptop has been operate dunno how many times already. if there's really any domestic damage happens due to that, no brand in the world will cover it for you imo. do yourself a flavor and get something cheaper so you wont feel that bad if anythings goes wrong.

zalman nc-2000 get my votes if you have the budget. cm infinite comes second.

seems like i still offended you after all. to me it seems that everyone tries to help and provide you the solution for all the software problems you facing but you keep complaining and never bother to try. good example like the driver, from the other thread you created ppl keep telling you how sucks dell's driver is but you dun bother installing other driver while keep complaining and let the technician reformat your laptop. is this a good move?

if someone operate your body and leaves all the scars on it, do you think after your complain ppl can replace a whole new body to you? your laptop has been "operate" for dunno how many times by technician, i'm not surprise if there's scratches or even damages like you said.

i'm not sure but i guess all the problems that you facing caused by the scratches when you receive your laptop. my only suggestion is if you really got a refund and when you buying another laptop, inspect it from top to bottom in the shop for scratches. no people will let you change the whole product just for few scratches.
