i do read the discussion about this two things and do search at google, still dont really got the picture, may appreciate any guide for this primary question for both. i am using unlocked 3G HK ( should be the latest 2.01 version )

a) should i get installer 4 or cydia?
b) is it must have installer 4 before get cydia?
c) is it must download to PC before transfer to iphone, i do download installer4.0beta.zip, how to transfer to iphone? my is PC not MAC, under iclarified, it only provide guide for MAC version
d) can it be direct download to phone? how ?

a. cydia is definitely way more stable

b. not necessarily

c. iclarified.com caters mostly for mac users, hence it is not surprising. try sleepers instead

d. huh???!!!

do look at sleeper, just to make things clear.
a)what is boot images for 3.9 or 4.6 , do i need to open it/downlaod it or ignore?
b) what is proper restore files? same again ,do i need to download the 3G restore image first before getting to step 1?

for step 1:

1) how to install winpwn ( from where ), itunes ( i already got one ).
2) how to extract restore image and bootloaders to the desktop

for newbie like me, really stuck even before step 1.

i'm gonna be real honest here with you and i don't mean to be rude. no one here is gonna explain to you step by step here; spoon feeding is frowned upon here despite one's claim he/she is a total newbie. hence if you do take some time off to research, the answers are right before you, unless you are willing to pay someone in exchange for their time and patience.

a) davidgary73 has done a good job explaining

b) if you are using an aifontrigi, then download the 3g firmware version and vice versa


1) google, please use the latest itunes

Added on August 27, 2008, 3:31 amsince you have mentioned that your aifontrigi's is a hongkong origin, there is no need for you to do this, unless that you have the intention to jailbreak your aifontrigi for the added features.
