Hi sifus,

There's 2 problem with my iphone now.
1. when sending sms, the toolbar will load half way and show error "Error Sending Message" then my sim card will be lock. I have to unlock it and when i try to resend it will show the same error
2. I can't listen to the other side or vice versa when i make calls or answer call. I can only hear the other side talking only when i put on my headphone or on loud speaker.

I've tried restoring my iphone still the same problem. Any advice?? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Thanks a lot

YEa, it's U/L and J/B. The first time I upgraded to 2.0, JB and UL, I can use it normally, sms and make calls and what ever. Just last week the SMS ERROR occur and last two days I can't listen to calls.

For case #1, what is your carrier?

For case #2, this can be the case of debris inside the headphone jack causing the iPhone to think that it still have the headphone in, when it is clearly not. The physical contact inside the jack needs to be cleaned.

Hi String,

Case #1: Maxis
Case #2: Sorry if i understand wrongly "The physical contact inside the jack needs to be cleaned." does this mean i can use cotton, stuck it inside and clean it? I'll try this tonite. But any other reason causing this? I am SO SO worry that it's spoilt wub.gif

It may be the case of your carrier, not your iPhone, that error during sending your SMSes. While roaming in Frankfurt, the carrier was changing between the T-Mobile and SFD while I was there, and this happened while I was sending a couple of SMSes back home. The same error you described happened to me. Resending the SMS after I was in a constant stable coverage area, eliminates this error. This may be the fault of Maxis, not your iPhone.

As for case #2, DO NOT shove cotton buds into your headphone port! That will make it worse, strands of those cotton lint may get stuck to the contacts inside the iPhone. Try reinserting and pulling out the cable, and see if that helps. Also, do you do dock your iPhone in anything else OTHER than its own supplied dock? I am currently using a Universal Dock because the crystal case I'm using does not fit the original dock, and before the recent firmware update, I have had cases where the call ringtones were muted, and answered calls immediately goes into voicemail when iPhone is pulled out of the dock. I have yet to experience anything like that after the new update. If you do dock it with anything else other than its supplied dock, try not to. Use its own supplied USB cable.

Other than that, I hope anyone else who had similar predicament as the TS can come forward with their possibe solution.

Whoa, calm down, hehe I haven't shove it in yet. I am using it's original dock all this while. Maybe the new update will solve this issue? I really hope the new winpwn will come out SOON.....

for case #1, i'm not sure if the carrier is the cause. I do try to send sms when the signal is full and the same thing happened.

Hi String,

I've tried what you suggested, still no avail. I still can't listen to calls normally, can only listen to call either by speaker or headphone.
