Just had a "stuck at Apple logo" symptom on my iPhone. Happens after I have purchased Koi Pond from Appstore, purchase from the AppStore app on the iPhone, NOT from iTunes. Koi Pond was downloaded wirelessly into the iPhone from the purchase, and proceeds to install. Installation of Koi Pond, at first, appears to progressing, but after a while, it went back to reset the progress meter, basically looping itself.
Left the iPhone on Auto-Lock setting to NEVER, and let the App install itself, figuring that the Sleep mode was probably the culprit. However, I was too tired to notice that I did not plug in the power cable, thus leaving it looping-install the Koi Pond, until the battery drains itself.
Woke up with the dreaded "iPhone stuck at Apple logo" syndrome. Multiple attempt to revive the iPhone via reset (Power + Home, hold it down till iPhone turns itself off), and turning it on again, fails to recover the iPhone back again. It remains stuck at the Apple logo, even after the battery is was still holding some charge.
Here is how I recover:-
1. Press and hold the Power and Home button until the iPhone turn itself off. This must be done without the iPhone connected via cable to your computer. 2. Press and hold the Home button, and while still pressing the Home button, plug in the cable to the iPhone. Keep holding down the Home button. 3. iTunes will now recognize the iPhone entering recovery mode, click Restore to recover.
iTunes is in the process of restoring the iPhone, I'm thankful that I've dilligently backed up the iPhone every night before I go to bed.
Hope this helps anyone in similar situation. Cheers!
EDIT: Make sure you "restore from a backup" and NOT "set it up as a new iPhone" else you will lose all your previous iPhone state, ie game-saves, SMSes, the works.

Additional addendum:
Also make sure that you have inserted your sim card, and get a signal, showing "My Celcom" or "Maxis" or "Digi" displayed, signifying you have coverage. This is IMPORTANT to fully-unlocked Aifontrijis, as your backups are TIED to the sim that it was backed up upon.
I learned this just now when, the initial restore from my latest backup failed, because I could not get a signal in, meaning no Celcom coverage. The backup failed, and on the iPhone it shows a popup message saying backup could not recover because iPhone is either locked or out of signal coverage.

99 cents is a good deal for me. They've added new features and listened to the reviews and requested features asked from the review posted by those who had bought the app.

And once you have recovered using the backup, make new backups after all is working fine. That way, you will have something to fall back to if anything goes wrong again.
OT: David bro, does your band play live gigs anywhere?

Currently FW2.0.2 is not that stable if you have lots of appstore applications intalled. Apple realised the problem, and working on another FW update next month(Sept).

@ davidgary73
aifonej kita yang sudah dipecah-penjarakan tidak boleh menggunakan "backup" untuk memulihkan semula akibat penggunaan aplikasi-aplikasi parti ketiga yang akan menjana "plist" secara automatik.

QUOTE(surpent @ Aug 26 2008, 12:35 AM) String, just your iphone hang when dl this apps or there is other case ? Basically, it goes on "Installing" and loops itself endlessly, until the battery drains itself off. This had never happened before, it can be either one of these two possibilities:- 1. The Koi Pond app fails to install correctly and restarts the installation process, and loops itself. OR 2. The installation of the app from within AppStore app on the iPhone itself is buggy. If it is case #1, you would see tons of complaints on the Koi Pond page on iTunes itself, but strangely that is not the case here. Case #2 may be the culprit, plus I was roaming on Softbank, so someone may be trying to call and contact me during the installation period and this clashes with the installation. I did check with my mailbox, and I have two incoming calls gets rerouted into voicemail with the timestamp dating to the time I was doing the installation while I was in Japan.

Thats the only thinkg you can do.
