QUOTE(ham_revilo @ Dec 1 2008, 05:41 PM) nice lapping bro For further lapping info, a few question here though. 1. what grit of sandpaper did u use for the whole lapping process? 2. what is the temp difference before and after lapping? 1) I used to read in the forum that ask to use 1000, then follow by 1500 then finally 2000. But i only use sandpaper with grit 2000 only in order to be on the safe side and change the sandpaper after every 15min after lapping as the sandpaper starting to degrade and smoothen. I lapped it for 1.5hrs with changing of 6pcs sandpaper. Lap until hand muscle also pain. 2) Sorry as I am currently busy with my work at out station. Will try to do the comparison if posible. Have fun experimenting PS: Make sure to lap it on a flat surface like table with glass and also during lapping add some water with soap on the sand paper for lubricant. QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Dec 2 2008, 03:21 PM) @neehyan Hi,thats a really nice lapping... i tried mine on 2000 grit oso... but cant get as nice as urs is there any polishing material that u used Thanks but I don't use any polishing materials. Make sure you buy a good quality sandpaper as some cheap sandpaper show grit 2000 but in actual fact it may only 1500 only especially made from China one. Another thing is don't apply to much force or pressure by ur hand during lapping, but rather use the ccf natural weight itself during the lapping. Too much pressure will cause the surface to rough and uneven. Keep checking the lapping result to prevent over lapping and cause the heat pipe to bocor...... Final thing is patient. |

QUOTE(seanlimys @ Dec 2 2008, 11:48 PM) May be other bro can help to provide comment on this, if any cases of hdt leak happen after lapping. So far, seem like pretty safe for ccf as this is the 1st time i do it. Added on December 3, 2008, 12:04 am QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Dec 2 2008, 11:59 PM) hmm.... just wana ask, what teknik u use for lapping ya? lap in one direction only or move it in a round circling motion? I lap it in one direction not the round circle motion. This post has been edited by neehyan: Dec 3 2008, 12:04 AM |
