Finished the game at 25:15.
There have been plenty of disappointments for me, but they haven't taken away from the fact that I'm really enjoying the game. There's a lot of great stuff going on in the game (mostly with the story and characters). But at the same time, I can't deny that it has more problems than most of the other main Suikoden games. My biggest issue with the game is the localization. The script itself is written quite well (except for the hero; even if it somewhat makes sense considering he was raised in a rural village, nobody else from the village talks like he does), but there are a ton of spelling and grammar errors. There's the issue with the hero's speed talking (although otherwise I've been very impressed by the voice acting), the fact that all the battle vocalizations were removed, and the awful instruction manual and pre-order "gift." It's a bit of a turn-off, especially for someone who's looking into the series for the first time and needs to be impressed.
The only thing I've found that the game has held with Suikoden is the music. The music has the feel but the game so far does not. Somehow, the music reminds me of Chrono Cross. I find the main character to be extremely annoying, not only him but Marica as well. The story could be good if they did it right, everything thus far has been predictable.
There is also the set-skills. The one of the things that made me caught up with Suikoden series is the Rune system. But somehow, there isn't any in this installment. Quite disappointing.
Not to mention that there are certain characters that you have to recruit quickly due to the affect of the storyline. But seriously, bring back the silent protagonist.
News about the official names (dunno if it's true or not) Hero: Sieg Company: Viele Wege Castle: Rätselhaft
German anyone?

Well to be honest, there are some missions that I skipped like the planting and catching animals and such. The other missions that are involving recruiting the Stars of Destiny, I have done it all.
If you have trouble in recruiting some of Stars of Destiny, let me know. I could give you a hand.
A piece of an advice, recruit Hafin and Nakil quickly after Asad officially joins you. Because after a period of time, you can't recruit them.
Oh yeah, you really want to recruit all 108 Stars of Destiny if you want a good ending.

QUOTE I recruited Nakil but I haven't got any chance to recruit Hafin yet. I am now at the part of defending Paramound after returning from the Scribes village. Oh.. Hafin is dead after that 'incident'. So basically you can't recruit him anymore.

Owh.. Sorry about that. Well, if you want to recruit any of the Star of Destiny and have trouble about it, just post it in here and I'll help you out.
Note: You might want to obtain Sieg's ultimate weapon; The God-Beast Sword. To do this, you must recruit Mubhal's teacher (that old lady which is in Salsabil). And Atrie will give you that sword. Really awesome!

According to my friend that is. It's not like a good ending but you could see why the Hero is different than other Heroes in the other worlds that had been defeated if you collected all Stars of Destiny.
