You must have lots of applications from appstore, you can only speed up the backup by removing those apps. The problem is with itune not the firmware.even now, when my iphone backups... it can take forever.. i can take my bath, had my dinner, watch a drama.. and still it is backuping...

You can stop the backup of your phone, by typing this at the windows command(DOS) prompt.
"%CommonProgramFiles%\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\defaults.exe" write com.apple.iTunes AutomaticDeviceBackupsDisabled -bool true
to enable it again, just change the "true" to "false"
