That was when winpwn was in its infancy. Now the tool already evolve to a point that u can restore directly to your desired FW. I would recommend using winpwn 2.5 but I my self have not use this so u need the guidance from Corvinux which have tried it. Like CMW said "Use at your own risk". BTW fw 2.0.2 is more stable than 2.0.0.

Appstore is great while having to jailbreak the phone gives a 3G iPhone user more apps to use like WinterBoard, NemusSync, BossPrefs, MxTube etc that's not available with AppStore.  So is cool to have extras.

When you pwn an Official unlock 3G iPhone , you will skip the Unlock(Leave it untick) and activate + baseband upgrade will be greyed out for you. Then just proceed with the frimware customization. Enter DFU, restore firmware and you'll have your 3G iPhone jailbroken.

Yup hopefully they will release the new 'stuff' this september. About the 3G unlock, it's better to get the officially unlock once since we can get it from our neighbouring country. One less hassle to wait for the unlocking software and waiting for the green light if can upgrade or not. Remember last time about the unlock for 1.1.2? How long did we wait for it, 2 months or 3 months?

well when i was on 2.0.1 without any 3rd party apps, my iphone looks good no lags and all. When i install winterboard things
started to go weird. My ringtones volume always reset back to middle tho how many times ive reset it to full bar..
sigh i think they need to do something bout winterboard, i do believed it could be the cause..so far i have yet to uninstall it
nevertheless i could tomorrow..tonite..so tired la hehehe

For the 3G iphone, im so sorry to say this, until today dev development team(d team!) has yet to release any unlocking
method (software wise) for 3G locked. Unless as u said turbosim or wat, well its hardware unlocking. As for now many
msian users trolling this forum are on the factory unlocked 3G iphone. Hope this answers your questions..
