Nop. Coz i'd reached 100C with 1.35V @4.10 GHZ .. no problem... this is IBT stress. So the temperature is higher. During Prime95 the temperature @80C+ full load
Anyway, i wouldnt recommend anyone running their proc with the temperature that high daily either.

Note: That overclocking attempt... It's not rock solid stable. Trust me. Passed 25 loops IBT and prime95 small fft for 3hours but failed prime95 mid~large FFT (blend) within 3 minutes.
Probably need extra vmem and vnb and couple of tweaks.... will attempt to make it stable if i have a time to do it....
The only rock solid stable clock for my processor w/ P5Q Deluxe is @3.70GHz which is the sweet spot (less vcore/low FSB/low load temp @80C IBT/super rock stable) of the proc. Running 24/7 now.

@kilowatt
Relax dude... just don't give up. Your ASUS M2F is a good motherboard.... Give a bit more try(depend on your OCing skill)...  I'm sure you will reach your targeted clock (of course it must be realistic clock).

worait! thumbup.gif ...but b4 OC to 4ghz wanna find better cooler 1st...maybe WC hehe...

coz i run LinX oc'ed to 3.7ghz..only pass 1 run coz i dont dare to see the temp...soo high like hell it reached to 90++ shakehead.gif ...

-pWs- oredi answer it bro...as long as it running @ 775 socket it will be no hassle at all...

as my tiny knowledge Xeon mostly use as server..izit?...correct me if im wrong...

wow.. great..

whats ur temp?? isit crazily hot? wat cooler u using btw??

haha...

yup my temp crazy on IBT & linX...full load on both 75C - 82C this is temp on 4 of my core...but based on review & others sites that i read about IBT & linX...this 2 application really burn & test ur cpu on da max level..but it will neva have any games or program that will make ur cpu stress like that....correct me if im wrong ya sifu's....

on OCCT & Prime95 my all 4 of my cpu core goes to 67C-75C ony biggrin.gif....

and 3dMark high temp is 64C...

my cooler is in my sig biggrin.gif Ultra120Extreme...

WOW..

rite now my system cant do that..dunnoe why..
last time tried 4.01Ghz but after that cant reach it at all.. doh.gif
no just set to Auto (15%) in bios.. running 2.83-3.3Ghz

nice OC'ed bro thumbup.gif..

seriously i still wondering how people can go higher but on low voltage hmm.gif...

still digging about it...but mostly 471x8.5 on Q9550 will need 1.35V++..

Higher vcore is needed to pass IBT longer... you may pass Prime95 small FFT with low vcore but can't pass IBT.... Hope that answer your Q.
*
owh izit ar?...

but izit still stable or not if we use low vcore but didn't pass IBT & pass Prime95 small FTT?...

it is consider quasi-stable not rock solid stable..... probably u will encounter instability when running CPU+Mem intensive application...
My personal ref... rock solid stable means u must passed IBT/Prime95(small/mid/large)/OCCT test(small/mid/large) with 99% mem utilized...

Even if u passed 20 loops IBT, probably u can't pass Prime95 mid/large FFT.... three of tests are needed to ensure rock solid stable operation...
*
owh nicely explain dude..thx!...

ok will run Prime Large FFT b4 sleep tonite...make it around 12 Hours...then will be report back 2morrow!..thx dude!! thumbup.gif

-----------------------------------------------------------

update on my Q9550..

Prime95 Large FTT 12hours 5minutes Passed.. thumbup.gif

wut do u mean by multi 8.5 bro?..this is on idle biggrin.gif...when stress yup it is in 8.5 multiplier...

btw Asus probe?..hehe im noob lo..but memset i will show nod.gif ..

Oh OK.. U didn't mention you were running the proc with EIST...
For your next stability test.. run prime95.. select custom.. set the FFT min and max 4096.. time to run each test set to 60 minutes... and run it for 2 hours...
n i'm pretty sure if u pass this test, u can enjoy almost rock solid stable computer... and of course you must pass IBT test as well...
*
lol ya notworthy.gif ...owh ok bro!...will run the test by tonite nod.gif ...btw how many loops do i have to run on IBT eh..i've read in others forum about stressing using IBT some said 10-30 loops enough oredi

and some run it to 50 loops but people there said it can kill or over stressed the proc izit?... hmm.gif dunno which to follow..but for me i just run 20loops...

btw here screenshot i take just now with memtest & asus pc probe...

Nice OC.. Now u can enjoy fast n stable computer.... also u need watch out your temps esp the CPU...
btw... i suspect my RAM got problem... supposely it doesn't need vmem that high to stabilise it @ 566MHzX2...  hmm.gif
will update u guys later...

UPDATE:
As i suspected.. one of my RAM sticks failed....  doh.gif
and i believe it failed not because of i ramped the it at 2.3V... because i never run it beyond 2.3V before and just ran/stressed it for few hours recently...
I suspected when i started to ramp vmem at 2.14V and stress it couple of hours (3~4 hours) during my 1st overclocking attempt at 4GHz.
I reverted back to stock before attempting 2nd overclocking. In between 1st OC attempt n OC 2nd attempt... i encountered minor crashes for 2~3 times or maybe more(specifically windows internet explorer or explorer)..oh ok... i thought it might some kind of application glitches because at that time i was installing ACDSee .. and think the application could be the problem....  Now it is proven that the RAM failed because of mild overvolt from recommended voltage.... fyi, recommended voltage for my RAM sticks is 2.1V @ 4-4-4-12@800MHz...
*
yeah!~ rclxm9.gif ....thx bro...yup will always keep the cpu temp...

but ouch cry.gif ...ram failed ka...nevamind i believe u can get new stick ram & get back to OC!...

yeah!...btw ya i just put my ram voltage max on 2.2...will not go more than that...

Fortunately, some broken RAM sticks could be revived..

For ppl who interested.. they can view here.... http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showth...t=205009&page=6

I'm trying to revive the RAM stick using freezing technique... already in the freezer n waiting for miracle... hopefully it will work for my RAM...  brows.gif

@kilowatt
Put a decent cooling fan for your RAM if u want to run at 2.2V 24/7....
*
hehehe wokey brO!...btw im using dominator trifan cooler biggrin.gif...hows ur ram working oredi? hmm.gif

update:

i have lowered my vcore down to 1.35v & it remain the same & superb stable!! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

Anyone here using DFI P35 Blood iron . . ?

My Q9450 cant get above 440 FSB .

Vcore - 1.55
VTT - 1.36
VPLL - 1.55
Vsb - 1.95
Vnb - 1.46
Vclockgen( Wth is this ? ) - 3.55 default.

All GTL at 0.67x

I get tips from other forum to up my VTT and VNB if i want to get higher clock . But why my board got Vclockgen and Vsb ? What value is optimum ?
*
yup wut campsol2k and reiben05 said is true...hmm hmm.gif i dont know about Q9400 can go for 400++ fsb or not but Q9450 definitely can go higher...ur SB & NB voltage dont need that much..my last Q9450 C1 can OC'ed to 465*8@3.72ghz stable 24/7 & my NB is 1.3v....

im using asus p45 mobo..maybe u should go for p45 mobo & try for higer FSB...P45-UD3P look nice drool.gif lol...or why dont u try 1st googling about Q9450 oc with ur mobo brows.gif ...

Hi guys, I am running Q9550, E0. Just got this last week. I was wondering, I have set Vcore 1.2V and pumped up to 3.3Ghz. Is 1.2V consider as stock voltage and mere 3.3Ghz is safe to be used?
*
as the proc stable running..it good to go 24/7...

try Prime95, OCCT or others to test the stability nod.gif
