http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/hardware/32....html#post12436
btw, running 440fsb at 1.25vtt 1.28vcore
Ibt passed, Prime 8 hours passed

nice result, i mean the table wont work well for 450 fsb..
about the 0.00724 in the formula there, this figure is?? hmm.gif
and for anantech, they measured diff real vtt from clunk for your board, dunno if i see wrong laugh.gif

QUOTE(metsatsu @ Dec 27 2008, 03:32 PM)
the limitation is on x38.
*
ya, i know, but a quad can get what fsb on x38? 450??

QUOTE(OC4/3 @ Dec 27 2008, 12:55 PM)
1.5 or 1.6vcore if i recall
@heng,X38 wall is rather low but i have seen 6xxFSB on dual core from maximus extreme
*
before my p5e manage to do 500 fsb stable only on a dualcore~

thanks! oh for 450fsb maybe you're right
0.00724v = 1 for GTL 1/2

you got the link for anandtech?
*
here is the link
http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=3294&p=14
i feel the real vtt measure here more accurate, as it show same as H/W in bios thumbup.gif
i think u use this real vtt to calculate might give u a surprise? laugh.gif

not very often.. but i ran 4 times before, 2 = 10 loops pased, 2 = 20 loops passed
now all gone.. T_T
*
so fast degrade?
btw, i found that ibt was not good for testing quad, coz quad calculate too fast..
ican pass 10 loops ibt but cant pass 1 hour prime doh.gif

Now Im running prime95 hmm.gif

it not so good for quad mayb, or u need run 30 loops like that to pass prime for a few hours..
but for dualcore, 10 loops ady can prime at few hours thumbup.gif

thanks for your info  rclxms.gif

btw, what are cpu degrading symptom?  sweat.gif
*
degraded processor need higher vcore to run at same frequency.
cpu will degrade after a long-term of overclocking due to higher temp and higher vcore than intel stated.
if your vcore and temp doest exceed intel spec, then the degrade chances will be lower..

hengmy bro. I've just realized that my x38 bios is quite different from your P45 bios setting. does your bios actually show all the voltages? eg. NB and SB voltage? if that's the case, that means u raised 0.4v on your NB right?
*
for x38,i think u need more vnb compared to p45. mayb u can try 1.6v smile.gif

but the problem is that x38 doesn't show the default NB voltage in the bios. sad.gif so not sure how much i should increase... sweat.gif
*
lol. i also forgot what stock vnb for x38, if i remember correctly, before my asus p5e stock vnb is around 1.3v..
mayb u try +0.2-0.3v?
or u can ask other who use x38 like abit, asus or dfi hmm.gif

for your information, your processor idle at 55c instead of 50c, and load >90c, when 100 tjmax applied.
sometime, the processor DTS is not accurate, so the processor might not so hot as shown.
try change to better hsf such as xigmatek or try stock hsf to see the different.
if your case airflow is not good, it might cause >10c higher than a naked system..
and y your vocre when load so high at 2.8ghz hmm.gif

oh.. so 71.4 is the CPU temp limit.
and Core temp is not the same with CPU temp.
both realTemp and coreTemp tools only give us the Core temperature, but not CPU temp? kinda blur  now.. biggrin.gif

can we adjust Tjmax?
in the coreTemp apps, it allow use to adjust there for what??
*
u can adjust, for your processor, i think the tjmax is 100c.
btw, dts is not so accurate.
and with stock vcore around 1.2v, most 45nm can do 3ghz -3.2ghz smile.gif
if u are lucky, 3.6 is not a problem with stock vcore thumbup.gif

guys, do you think it's possible to overclock a Q9650 to 4 GHz with a low-end PSU like CM Extreme Power Plus 500W?
*
it was possible but not recommended, as i have use CM extreme power before, when u OC alot, the +12v getting lower..
get a 500w or 550w true power for a quad 4ghz setting smile.gif
