I can't believe how much bean's conditioned improved by leaving the sandbath in the cage for a week!

Normally I leave it there for a while as recommended but she dare not bathe in fornt of me apparently

She...she looks very normal now except for minor baldness. Wow, so much different from the first time I see her. Good diet and sandbath helps.

I"ll take some pictures when the battery is done recharging

yea i used to think the bathsand was underutilized. then i realize that my Kiki does roll in it. only when im not around

i posted a statement replied by a VET(which u guys recommend nezu to get advise from) bout fruits and diabetes already.. i do not post without researching, you guys know why people like sangles, blurjoey, hazzy jumpout to defend smoothie straight away ? because it is a GREAT product.. there is no doubt about it.. we love this product and v strongly believe+ have faith in it..
*
i saw the reply.. but the fruits stated are bananas, grapes, etc.. no apples, dragonfruit, or some other fruits.. furthermore, nezu adviced that the smoothie be fed EVERYDAY.. it'll be like a super dose to RCs..

QUOTE(Reanne @ Aug 28 2008, 12:34 AM)
I'm not talking bout the smoothie either. I'm talking bout the ingredients in the smoothie may not be best for a hamster that may have problems, I never said it's bad quality. Do recall I alway used 'may', not 'will'. Prevention better than cure not your motto then it's OKAY, like I said before, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Ok, then we'll do the testing. Since everyone is so obsessed with proof, (that's how it's spelled btw), we will make some. We won't ask for compensation or anything in return. How does that sound? Then everyone just shuush and no more argument bout this. It's a hamster thread, not a flame thread.
*
guess that's the only way.. it'll naturally happen along with time.. maybe in the future someone may eventually discover that the fruits in the smoothie is not suitable? just cos there's no negative feedback NOW, does not mean that it's not bad..

QUOTE(tina_yess @ Aug 28 2008, 12:37 AM)
gosh... plz stop la..

GOOD ONE  rclxms.gif

lets back to our hammi forum....

see u say egg... now i remember i got toufu for ham ham.. heheh go take 1st tongue.gif
*
stop the flaming, yes.. but the discussion shouldnt stop just like that.. i hope all RC owners wont just listen to hear-say only.. for those who are feeding smoothie, if u think that it's good to do so, then u all may continue.. i used to feed the smoothie to my ww, but not RCs.. if u all think that those websites saying that RCs shouldnt be fed with sugary food are wrong, and nezu alone is right, then it's up to u..

We don't need to convince since it's strictly based on the hams themselves, I'm also curious to see. Don't worry la, we're not gonna do anything stupid. Got better things to do like DotA and playing with my dogs rather than sabotaging.

We'll see bout the hams. Get RCs that are gila, gila and bite so hard until ppl don't dare to touch and have no hope for a home. lol
*
lol that's funny.. but true la.. it'll be a waste to experiment on good RCs.. biggrin.gif

Hi Hamster Lovers, just wanna ask a few questions.

1) Is Hamster generally smelly?
2) How often do you clean the cage, bedding, litter and the hamster?

I've a housemate that keeps a hamster in dining area and its smells (the whole living and dining area). I'm not sure whether she cleans up the cage occasionally, but if she did, she might clean it every 2 weeks or less. If you live in a sharing apartment, where would you keep your hamster and in what kind of room? Would you consider keeping it inside your own room?

Hamsters are generally very clean animals. If you don't change the bedding often then the cage will start to stink as their waste builds up. Bedding also plays a role. Breeder Celect, HealthyPet, Back2Nature are good at odour control.

If she's using shavings should clean every week, unless she does spot cleaning which is removing the dirty bedding. Toilet training your ham is not a bad idea too. Better to keep outside your room, healthier for you.

i keep my hamsters in my own room.. not to say it's good, but i have no choice as i'm renting a room only..

smelly or not, diet & the type of bedding will affect.. if feed a lot of fresh food, they'll pee a lot & must change bedding quite often (tis 1 u agak2 urself.. mostly around 4-5 days).. without fresh food, then 1 week is normal..

i feed mine with fresh but change the bedding only once a week cos i'm using Woody Pet.. the absorbency is good and wont have obvious pee smell as compard to softwood beding(aka wood shavings)..

to clean the hamster, but a good bathing sand (do not bathe with water) and let the hamster(s) roll in it.. how often? that'll depend on the type of hamster u have..

the cage u can clean once a week, or earlier if u think it's time to change.. it's based on ur judgement lar actually.. when smelly, change lor..

Woody Pet has good absorbency & odor control, just that it's very dusty.. cos when hamsters pee, the pellets will turn to dust.. so, even tho no smell, still have to change rather often due to the dust..

WoodyPet is a pelleted wood type bedding. Very good absorbency, but a bit dusty after to break down when touches water. The wood smell is strong though, gives me a headache.

Nope, I play LAN in cyber. Sry off topic.

Most likely, if I recover fast enough...or else I infect hamster with my sickness pulak.
it's just a little bit of thinning at the backof her right ear, but otherwise everything is growing back so nicely.

the stripe is quite jagged though XD
