My Iphone shows "No Service" Need Repair"

then i tried to restore it back using itune...(1.1.4)... it ended with an error..1011..

then I decided to Upgrade it to 2.01... wth ... it ended with and error 1604...


Please Help.. all tailo,sifu,master,guru!!!!

Have you reboot your PC and try again? use any USB port? when you say upgrade or restore, are you using the official firmware? or the PWN firmware?

PWN firmware... tried on my 3 PC and 1 Mac..around 25 different USB ports.

try iliberty ... get it out of recovery mode... might help..

Error 1604 DOES NOT mean its the fault of the USB port. Its usually problem with the itunes unable to detect the phone firmware.

what version itunes that u used? I as read from other forum u should sync ur itunes with the version firmware. Maybe u could try latest version 7.7 to snyc with 2.1 firmware.

Problem: I am in DFU mode and I just get error 1604, 1602, 1601 (some 160x). I am pulling my hair out! What do I do?!
Solution: This one sucks. There’s no single answer for it. Here are some possible suggestions:

1. Using winpwn, the #1 cause of this error is you forgot to pwn your phone using the ipwner button!
2. Validate you are using the correct firmware. You can get this if you are using an incompatible firmware (3g for 2g for example).
3. Restart your computer and try again.
4. Try another computer
5. Try switching USB ports
6. Uninstall and reinstall iTunes 7.7
7. Use recovery mode rather than DFU mode (try both).
8. Try using a *stock* unmodified image, restore to that, then, once that works proceed to custom images.

Try step 8 with original firmware. Then ipwne it and restore with DFU mode with your PWN firmware (recreate again if possible).

Terapox, this is an offer for you. If you're around KL Sentral, or Gardens Midvalley, I can try and rectify this problem of yours. I cannot guarantee success, but two heads(or more) are better than one.

I'm using Pwnage 2.0.2 with stock 2G IPSW, and I have done 5 Aifonej with zero issues. I can understand the frustration of having countless attempts coming out failed. So, if you around these areas, drop me a PM and we can arrange something.

Let me put it this way. Error 16XX have to do with you itunes and the firmware. It's not recognizing the correct firmware. It's either you got a corrupt ipsw to start with, did not pwned your itunes (v7.7.1) or did not put the phone in DFU.

What i would suggest,

1. Download the IPSW file again and make sure its for the 1st gen phone or download it from here@. The file name should be iPhone1,1_2.0.1_5B108_Restore.ipsw.

2. Next, open winpwn 2.0.0.4 and look for the iPhone1,1_2.0.1_5B108_Restore.ipsw.

3. Click on IPSW Builder. Tick on Cydia + YouTube + Activate iPhone + Resize the partition to 550mb.

4. Don't select installer (very buggy), custom image, custom payload, no wipe and enable baseband update.

5. Build iPSW.

6. Once done, click iPwner and select the CUSTOM ipsw file that u just created. This will pwned itunes and not the phone.

7. Close winpwn, open itunes and connect the phone.

8. Put the phone in DFU (10 secs method). The phone should not have anything on the screen (black screen) and itunes detect it as in recovery mode.

9. Shift + Restore and select the CUSTOM ipsw file that you made.

10. Wait for it to finish install (and cross your finger so no error 16XX)

For everyone's info, Terapox tried all of these suggestions, and moved back and forth between PC and MAc, and still comes up with error 16XX. It can mean anything now, between him not doing something right, or missing a step, or his iPhone gone beyond to Heaven already. He was up till early this morning, and still failed.

The only way I see this can be fixed is to bring it to someone who knows the steps intimately and do it from there. Plus it is always better to start off fro a different PC/Mac, on a unit that have been proven to work with no issues, rather than repeating the process on a PC/Mac that have spitted out errors before. You start off fresh that way.

I've offered, but my offer was not taken. I leave it to him to decide.

perhaps TS is not from this area.

If TS really in DFU mode by now, his iphone is doing nothing besides blank screen...... Thats hurt.....

As for me, my problem is definately beneath my itunes. I got 1601 & 1602 b4.. tho im on d latest itunes version (7.7.1), i still got this error... what i did, is exactly THIS almost 3 times (Install/uninstall) and rebuild my .ipsw also 3 times with the same original .ipsw that fails me earlier on... Extra, i did restart my pc at every occasion. Believe that... sounds not necessary but it works and i dont know which particular point that make it happened... I never waste my time keep downloading other restore .ipsw coz that huge file makes me sick of waiting... dont worry, any original restore .ipsw for 1st gen iphone that u downloaded from any source (prefered iclarified) is OK... the only corrupted .ipsw could happened is the one you built (custom)...
As been said, failure to pwn ur itunes is also one of the reason of this error. So, if its realy hard for u to meet up with bro strings, i suggest u make a list of error elimination checklist....

if using winpwn, try uninstall 100% then reinstall back. Solved problem.

well for TS's sake, i'd hope it gets rectified immediately as i'm curious the main culprit behind it.

I've another idea, but it may take a while.

Let the iPhone drained off its power, threfore resetting whatever setting it holds inside. Then turn it on by plugging in the USB, and redo the steps from there. The battery drainage may reset whatever complications he had faced earlier, and from what I hear, he had been trying many times to load various versions of IPSWs into his iPhone. I totally understand his frustrations.

okay, this is my case, guys..
my iphone suddenly lost all its signals, bt, wifi , imei...and it stats.."repair needed"

it didn't really scare me alot at first become i knew how to restore it back 1.14 and unlock it using Ziphone...(did that for few times for few friends)

but this restoration, bring up an error of 1011... my phone is dead...

serch the internet and manage to do some "CPR" to make it awake but it still stuck in the "safemode" (itune and cable logo)

my itune can detect the phone.. and i decided to do an upgrade...directly to 2.01... but got an error of 1604...

was offered help by someone yesterday(thanks a million) to show me how to do the restoration and pwning on a MAC system.. but same error persist..

I just tried iliberty+ and YES!!!! It kicked the phone back to live!!!

No sound, No Music,No Wifi, No BT ,No iMei...(at lease i have an Apple Portable Photo Album now...*grins*)

I search through the web.. and i found out that ..they said it's baseband corrupted..

anyone got any info on how to solve baseband corruption, pls help... thanks a Billion...

This is like a challenge to all of us here, trying to fix this problem of yours. Have you tried the methods listed by others here, particularly by Frozzbyte?

With computers n softwares, there are a lot of variables to play with. It could be one thing for me thats stops me but could be other things for the others. An error elimination checklist like fellow JasLyn said is one thing that u can do. What i would suggest is to start from the beginning.

Doing it yourself and gaining the experience is more valuable than asking someone to do it for u. We learn thru our mistakes (and hope its not a big one) and later when your in this kind of situation again, you'll know what to do instead of having cold sweats.

If you want ... I can guide u step by step thru YM or MSN. Just PM me your id and set the time. I'll try to help as best as i can. If you are not free then by all means go and see string. He's a good chap and knows his stuff.

It looks like your baseband is definitely corrupted in 1.1.4. Take out your sim card, and try restore with the official 1.1.4 fw, using itune 7.5 or 7.6 (7.7 doesnt allowed 1.1.4fw). Use another PC if possible, (make sure this PC has never installed with itune 7.7 before). Let us know the results, if not, meeting stringfellows is your last option. If it is the same 1011 error, you just have to upgrade to FW2.0 or FW2.0.1 (baseband upgrade for these 2 FW). I have encounterd many times on error 1604 when upgrading to 2.0 from 1.1.4, make sure that you are really in DFU mode (blank screen, no white apple or anything else), and when plug into your PC, your PC should detect it as a Apple DFU device. Then you try to restore to Fw2.0 or FW2.0.1. Dont use FW2.0.2 yet, as this will upgrade to a newer baseband than FW2.0/2.0.1. Keep this for last if all things failed.

If you managed to restore your phone to 1.1.4, DONT use Ziphone (this is what causing your problem), use PWN or WINPWN.
