Some baby fan for low ceiling doesn't use hooks to mount. But they need you to drill 4 holes - and insert anchor bolts into the holes.

For anyone whose looking for affordable ceiling fan, try lookout for DEKA. So far there are not much issue or complain from users. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Help - my KDK fans (reg type) wobbling. How to solve? I tried set the screw to tight (not overtight) but still wobble.

Anyone here with KDK Sensa 4 fan...? How's your power consumption like...?

Not sure if my fan has problems, but I find it almost as power hungry as a 1.5HP air-cond. These few nights didn't turn on air-cond, just the KDK fan but power consumption remains the same (as I record my daily usages day and night for comparison).

I removed a kronos 5 blade as it failed on me.
Heavy to install as compared to the competitors P and K - and the metal concealer cup cannot be taken off the rod and they don't deburr the edges of that concealer cup vmad.gif .

Assuming your fan is operating fine and has no faulty motor or bearing (meaning that when its set to speed 1/2 it still works and not just for show turning slowlyyyyyyyy) it should only take like ~80W

did you use other high energy equipment during these few nights?

if fan using power like AC, i think some internal parts already overheated.

no one else using aircon?

Only me and wifey staying in house (meant for sleeping only), 1 room 1 air-cond... got fridge but on all day long regardless using in tandem of air-cond or fan...

Fridge probably consume around 1kwh over 12 hour period when measured with no one at home, all other minor equipment off.

Overnite scenario:

1. Air-cond 5 hours + fan 2 hours takes about 6 - 8kwh
2. Fan all the way 7 hours takes about 5 - 6kwh <---- this one macam makan a lot energy...

What fan consumes 5-6kW in 7hrs?! 😵

DC fans should be the way to go in high occupancy zones.

Also AC can alternatively use AUTO or DRY mode but set it to 27°C with blower set to AUTO combined with 2 speed ceiling fan. It seems like this week AC can be avoided. Pleasantly humid.

Your KDK fan when turned on, what speed?
How do you measure energy consumption of your KDK fan?

I have Panasonic F-M14HW, spec wise should be similar to yours.

KDK: https://www.kdk.com.my/product/k14zw/

how was the wiring done for air con & fan? do they share the same wiring run?

can you try 1 day don't use aircon & fan and see the consumption same or not?

maybe like Sunday you go out come back and check.

the AC you turn off using remote? or turn off the switch? turn it off the same way you did normally and see how the consumption is without both fan & AC.

not sure if possible the AC wiring maybe leaking current?

That is how I discovered even without AC alone my power meter runs almost as if my AC is switched on like any other usual nights.

Since I turn on and off from the main wall switch and not remote, it defaults to Speed 5...?

I have no idea. Default unmodified wiring. No renovation made on that room.

Been doing that every day. My house devoid of humans on daytime for around 12 to 14 hours. Power reading only 1 - 2kwh with only the fridge running.

AC always off from remote, then off wall switch. Fan off wall switch straightaway. If house empty for 12 to 14 hours and only take a difference of 1 - 2kwh in meter reading, I don't see how leakages are a cause.

if fan is taking so much power it's actually a hazard. since we don't see the fan going faster, the extra current must be going somewhere. maybe into earth?

The spec for this DC fan reads:
Motor W : Low 2.5 High 41.0

To have it on at high for 7 hours should only consume 7x41Wh=287Wh or 0.28 kWh. Perhaps there could be a power factor correction compensating thus it could be slightly more.

But to consume 5-6kWh from a single fan for 7hours....

Even if it's an AC fan with say hi speed consuming 90Wh. It should only consume 0.63kWh.

He mention just turn on the wall switch for the fan, the default fan speed is 5, out of 9.
So assuming the power consumption is linear to the fan speed, therefore at fan speed of 5, it should be 41 * 5 / 9 = 22.78 W
22.8W * 7 = 159.4 W = 0.159 kW per day.
0.1594 kW * 31 = 4.942 kW per month.
