sad that I cannot really buy deka/alpha/elmark fans which are much cheaper than panasonic/kdk - all because of my low ceiling... only 8.5' high...would have saved so much!

Hi,

Any comment on the following brands?
Alpha , Elmark and Deka
Recently saw Kronos ( which is from Deka as well ), looks just like Deka...but not sure about the reliability though.

Elmark has 10 years motor warranty while most have 3 years only.

Still considering which to buy.

I am kinda interested to get the following:-
1)Alpha Airleaf for dining room
2)Alpha Bianca for my master room
The 2 models above coz I want those with built-in lights.

3) Deka 5 Blades models ( all other areas )
Not interested in modern looking design ( ie. KDK, National, Panasonic...)

Anyone with good recommendation for brands/models?

Thanks!

so the selection of fan is based on how tall is our plaster ceiling ?

local branded / non branded : requires higher space ?

the lower your ceiling, the lower your fan will be. if you are tall, then you'd have to be careful not to extend your arms towards the ceiling fan.

regardless branded/local brand/watever brand, check the minimum length between the ceiling and the blades. I did my research with typical Deka fans and Alpha VS5, even if I cut the rod to the minimum length, it would still be too low for my liking - so I went with KDK Sensa and Panasonic Nami Jr for my fans as they are the shortest.

conclusion - do your research and don't rush, check the specs/dimensions/measurements before making a decision that best suits your budget and usage.

Nope, you need to cut off the hook. KDK Baby Fan comes with their own accessories. You can try to get the ELmark brand mini fan, if not mistaken the model should be similar to vip 9006, the fan blade length sholud be around 44" to 48".

V-touch is a slightly older model with a longer neck. It is also cheaper, but it lacks the temperature sensor that the Sensa 5 has which can dynamically change the speed according to temperature - you may or may not find this useful. Obviously the design is different. An equivalent model from Panasonic is also available.

the Sensa 5 is a newer model which is more expensive, and belongs to the range of KDK 100th anniversary models. The neck is shorter which makes it better for low ceilings. It also has an LED light, which isn't very bright. Panasonic does not have an equivalent model.

best you try it out yourself at KDK dealers etc to find out which is best for you.
