QUOTE(sekkee @ Jul 7 2013, 11:16 PM) I like your reasoning hi this is an interesting discussion. we almost bought a vento-melon ceiling fan for 1200 dollars, which was indeed a piece of art. Eventually, we decided to be more rational and chose something between price and asethetics. From 2 months of shopping, we worked out a ceiling fan comparison chart showing prices, specifications and performance.

QUOTE(lonewolf @ Jul 8 2013, 12:10 PM) only Deka has reverse?...KDK and panasonic don't have right? nop...KDK and Panasonic don't have such feature. Not that practical on our climate. not just Deka...Other brands such as Alpha, Elmark etc......do offer this feature on certain model. But the switch are located at the motor so you have to climb up and flip the switch which is quite hassle. Not sure which model offer this feature on remote control.

My reverse mode is on the remote. The fan will brake and switch its gear (can hear click), then it will go into the reverse mode. Some cheap brand...

I came across Panasonic F-M15H2, with Econavi and Yunaragi function. Any forumers used these fans before?
It's pretty pricey, ranging from 300~400 per unit.

A lot of the nicer looking Taiwan-made ceiling fans with light kits are costing about that range now. Was told that Crestar, armasco and acorn are all made in Taiwan. Visit our renovation blog here

With the same range, all they provide was extra lights and some 'fancy' design. I'm looking for fans with temp/human sensor built it and of course reliability

I'm confused..somewhere in d first few pages of this thread mentioned that d less fan blades means it moves faster thus more airflow; but d last few pages here mentions that more blades means more air is pushed downwards; cooling effect is important as I can save on air-conditioning lol,so shud I be searching for 3 bladed fan or 5 blades? also,KDK fans are manufactured by Panasonic?

Capacity tab shows the air it produce at its highest RPM and its measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM) QUOTE(petlu28 @ Jul 12 2013, 10:09 AM) last time i have using KDK 5 blade ceiling fan around 7 years no problem at all. Yup....that was "last time" right ? but now i doubt such quality still exist in market.......not just ceiling fans, now most of the home appliances won't last that long already. So those manufacturer could earn more money from consumer again. How could they survive if all their products last so long ?
