Well if it's a minor condition like flu or cough...then go pharmacy if it's more convenient...if you are feeling really sick then always go to your doctor..

I don't get sick easily but if I'm sick, the condition is usually very serious. So, I always go to the doctor just to be on the safe side.

Take panadol. If cannot recover, then only see doctor.

See doctor...they are more aware which medicine tat we should take and which shouldn't be..

but if minor condition such as chapped lip, sensitive skin, sorethroat..i go to pharmacy..they are helpful in recommending product..

well, depends lah..
if just having flu-like symptoms:
cough -> cough syrup
fever -> panadol
sore throat -> gargle / strepsils
runny nose -> claritin / clarinase
most likely dure to virus, it's self-limiting..
should recover within 1-2 weeks
NO NEED antibiotics

but if cough got yellowish/greenish phlegm, very high fever..
then seeing a doctor would be necessary..

but if everyone followed this advice, then private clinics will go bankrupt! tongue.gif

Pharmacy should be cheaper in long run 'cos no doctor's consultation fees. But if compare medicine prices, don't know how 'cos clinic give in different quantities and they don't itemise the bills.

pharmacy of course coz i'm a pharmacist
I go to doc for MC only
Doctor likes to overcharged! Consultation add up to cheap generic drugs...not original medicine! I want clarinase they give me Carinox (malaysia brand) which has no effect on me

Can buy amoxicillin from Pharmacy without Prescription ?

Actually what sort of things I can buy Over The Counter?
I wanted to buy some in case of travelling emergencies.
Ideally want:
- Antibiotics
- Famotidine
- Anti-spasmodic
- Anti-diarrhea (Loperamide)
- Anti-histamines.

I believe all the above can OTC except AntiBiotics?
