Ok guys, here is the instructions on how to mod the X800 Pro to X800XT PE.

1 ) What you need is a X800 Pro VIVO with 1.6ns ram. If it's a non-VIVO,the percentage of modding it is quite....low wink.gif

2 ) At least 2 floppy discs.

3 ) Download the winRAR file that i'll provide later.

Follow the steps to mod your X800 Pro VIVO to a full-fledged X800XT PE :

Floppy A
To back up your BIOS:
(a) Create a bootable floppy disc with flashrom on it by double clicking the Flasher+Floppy2.37.exe. (i'll provide the files here)

( B ) Restart the PC with the floppy disc inserted & boot in DOS.

Once activity has ceased you will be at the A:\ prompt, type the following command line to back up your existing BIOS:

flashrom -s 0 backup.bin

You now have a file on the floppy disc named 'backup.bin' this is your original BIOS which you may require at a later date.

(d) Remove the floppy disc & reboot the PC.

Floppy B
To flash to the Gigabyte X800XT BIOS for enabling the 4 locked pipelines,
(a) Create a bootable floppy disc by double clicking the DrDos boot disc creator.

( B ) Unzip the Gigabyte Flash utility & X800 XT BIOS, then place the files on the floppy disc.

Restart the PC with the floppy disc inserted & boot in DOS.

(d) Once activity has ceased you will be at the A:\ prompt, type the following command line to flash the BIOS:

GVF11 -p -f A:\r80x256v.f1

(e) Remove the floppy disc & reboot the PC.

Floppy A again, for Retail ATI XT PE
To flash to the ATI Retail X800 XT BIOS, for improved overclocking,

(a) Insert floppy disc 'A' into into the floppy drive (leaving existing files in tact).

( B ) Place the downloaded Retail ATI X800 XT BIOS ( X800XT.bin ) on to the floppy.

Restart the PC with the floppy disc inserted & boot in DOS.

(d) Once activity has ceased you will be at the A:\ prompt, type the following command line to flash the BIOS:

flashrom -p -f 0 X800XT.bin

(e) Remove the floppy disc & reboot the PC.

If you have followed the instructions carefully you should have a fully fledged ATI Radeon X800 XT 520mhz core / 560mhz memory.

Due to the heat generated by the additional 4 pipelines your maximum core over clock is likely to be reduced by on average 20mhz

*Warning : Mod at your own risk!

AFAIK, 1.6ns VIVO card can be flashed without hardmodding while x800pro non-VIVO has to be hardmodded
BTW, flashing a BIOS is not considered as SOFTMODDING

Just a little update for you guys.
X800PRO VIVO isn't available in most of the shops in Low Yat Plaza. Have search for it on Saturday and there isn't any gems left. Whats new are X800PRO but Lazer Cutted Pipelines and 2.0ns rams. Future VIVO will also be lazer cutted but with 1.6ns ram.
SO...good luck searching for one.

Another update

Only the Asus X800Pro Vivo is still available in Czone, just got mine and succesfully flashed to x800xt bios.

News have it that new x800pro vivo's have laser cut to prevent users from soft modding it

And there is a new way to flash your x800pro vivo to x800xt and its reversible should you have defective pipes

Download the modified flash rom here http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/100/im...flashrom16p.zip

If you are unsure whether your card can run at XT PE speeds try flashing your bios with this modified bios that runs at stock x800pro speed but with 16 pipes here
http://www.techpowerup.com/bios/ATI.X800PR...6.Samsung16.bin

Format a new floppy disk and click on include system files so that your pc can boot from the floppy

Format another new floppy

After formating put the modified flashrom and the modified bios into the second floppy

Remove the floppy and put in the first formated floppy with system files and reboot

After reboot put in the second floppy with the flashrom and bios files

At the command prompt type in flashrom -f -p 0 biosname.bin

After it finished flashing reboot and uninstall previous driver.

Then use Driver Cleaner to clean ati drivers, ati wdm and all other things relevant to ati

Reboot and reinstall drivers

Use atitool to check whether you have 16 pipes or not

*Using the hacked bios your card will be detected as x800pro but dont worry about it if you see 16 pipes in atitool.
