For those who are planning to go for UK mobility, I came up with a checklist of items that I submitted to VFS Centre, which I did today. Note I have NOT received my visa (should be receiving it in about 3 weeks, hopefully) and this checklist is just for reference, because I felt that it might be helpful. My category is Tier 4 General (Adult) Student going for full year mobility.

The Checklist
1.Fully Completed VAF Form

2.Fully Completed Self-Assessment Form (Appendix 8)

3.Fully Completed Student Survey Form

4.Recent Passport Size Photograph
-On a white background
-Size of 45mm x 35mm
-Taken recently (Less than 1 week ago)

5.Current Passport

6.Photocopy of Biodata Page of Passport

7.Previous Passport

8.Original Visa Letter
-Contains information of name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, student ID, sponsor license number, sponsor address, sponsor contact details, name and address of overseas education provider, level of study, course title, course start date, expected completion date, hours per week, main place of study, ATAS details, financial detail, qualification used

9.Individual Student Marks Statement
-Certified as true statement by Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus
-Provided in the place of transcript due to unavalability at this time

10.Official Receipt of Payment of Tuition Fees
-Full payment of tuition fees for duration of study in the UK Campus

11.Original Savings Account Passbook
-Contains applicant's name (joint account), account number, date of statement, bank name and logo

12.Value after conversion Statement (Printed from www.oanda.com/convert/classic) => Note that 28 days rule will only take effect in October 2009
-Exchange rate as recent as possible:

13.Photocopies of the above documents

14.Visa fees of RM783.00

15.Two Copies of this checklist

Disclaimer: This checklist might or might not be complete for you. And I have NOT received my visa (waiting for approval) so I don't know whether it's complete. This checklist is for reference only.

*
Yes, there's a B.Eng/M.Eng Mechanical Engineering at Nottingham Malaysia Campus which you could complete at the Malaysia Campus alone. You could even complete your PhD here, if there's an offer. Yes, it takes 3 years to complete B.Eng.

does the cert of nottingham malaysia is same as the cert of nottingham uk?? Does the employer looking for which campus u complete your degree?
*
Yes, the cert of the Malaysian campus is identical to that of the UK campus. That really depends on the individual employer, but I don't think which campus will really matter.

btw,how long does it take for me to reach semenyih from the airport ? How much does it cost for a full trip by taxi ? How do I get to Serdang from the campus ?
*
What students usually do to reach Serdang is to take the university bus to Kajang KTM and then stop at Serdang Station. Why? Would you be staying at Serdang?

BTW, anyone with any ideas what are they so many Malays for this intake?
*
Maybe the government wants to save cost and send the JPA scholars into Nottingham Malaysia instead of overseas. Probably related to the recession.

OMG? From the weblink given, only Friday has the bus service back and forth from Tesco ?
*
Yea, but you could use the ordinary bus service (to Kajang, but with stops along the way) to go to Semenyih and buy from Econsave, Fajar or the shops there.

If its still the same, the apartments are not segregated by gender except that some floors on those apartments are gender specific. ie, 2nd floor is all girls dormitory (that was when I was there about 1 year back)
*
Yes, the system used: ground floor is all male, 1st floor all female, 2nd floor all male, 3rd floor all female.

Is there a unit with 2 bedroom n 2 bathroom for the accomodation on-campus? Means 1 unit shared by 2 person but with 2 bedroom n each bedroom has a bathroom
*
No. The list of rooms below show the only types of available on-campus accommodations. How about applying for 2 single ensuite or 2 single shared ensuite?

Also none that I know of off-campus. It's either Edu-Square (Also like options 1,2,4 but larger) or a rented house (usually up to 5-6 people per house)

QUOTE
1)Single Ensuite Bathroom with A/C @ RM600 per student
2)Single Shared Ensuite Bathroom with A/C @RM540 per student
3)Single Shared Ensuite Bathroom @ RM440 per student
4)Single Shared Bathroom with A/C @ RM510 per student
5)Single Shared Bathroom @ RM 410 per student
6)Twin Share in 6 Bedroom Flat @ RM385 per student
7)Four Shared Bedroom @ RM330 per student

can i still change to different engineering courses during my first year or after my first year?
*
No, all engineering courses have totally different first years except if they closely related. Example:

1) Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electronic & Communication Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering have common first years.
2) Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering with Environmental Engineering have almost the same subjects in the first year.

Other than that, they are different.

would u guys recommend staying in campus or off campus? like, which would be better for first years?
*
Depends on whether you are more concerned about Internet Connection or convenience. On-campus internet connection is not good and it's controlled so you cannot Torrent etc. However, if you stay on-campus, it's very convenient for eating, going to the sports complex, or Student Association. If you have a car, you can have the best of both worlds. I'll definitely consider staying on-campus in my third year.

if i use celcom broadband on campus,i suppose i can dl torents? xD since i m not using the school's wireless anyway...
*
Can. But the thing is... your total download limit is only 5GB every month before they reduce your bandwidth to 1/3. Another thing is I'm not sure whether there's Celcom coverage on campus.
