avg has this linkscanner option where it detect malicious netpage that will potentially harm your pc or laptop - it's a good feature where it will tell u its dangerous to surf to that particular website....

but for me ive always use these website so i have to disable the linkscanner.. lol

and then under ur quiklaunch tab the icon of avg will appear with a exclamation mark.. showing it doesnt run properly at its peak..

so not really a nice thing to see ( like the UAC icon for vista when u disable it)

im not sure about NOD32, hows the coverage and protection? is it as good as avg?

Understand that quite a lot of older antivirus does not work with Vista properly. Actually I tried to install one, and it will not. What antivirus will you recommend? Kas.? Norton 360? etc.?

I'm using McAfee aswell , but I feel that the security or the scanning is not good enough as I have a few infected .dll files which they couldn't detect. blush.gif
After my McAfee expired , I'll give Kapersky or Nod32 a try. wink.gif

I download the trial version once and it seems that I couldn't get used with their outlooks and placing.
It's just personal preference though.

Does Kaspersky really that good ? and How different compare to NOD32 ?

I Vote for kaspersky 2009,
uhm, sometimes a lot of pop up when deal with internet accessing,
and when u try to unzip a large file,
it will take some times as the kaspersky 2009 will scan the entire zip file before you unzip it...

Kaspersky is good in detections and disinfection..so is NOD32.

NOD32 is much liter, doesnt use much resource.

But then i say kaspersky is for beginners and NOD32 is for advance users.

The antivirus can only be as good as the user it self. If they know how to configure it well, they get the best protection.

kaspersky internet security 2009...buy it and u wont regret...AVG confirm no use....just for decoration...low ability to detect, more low ability to delete the virus/trojan/worm....

i used norton, trendmicro, avg, avira, bitdefender, gdata AVK, panda, fsecure and zonealarm security products before...keep on changing until i found kaspersky 2 years ago... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
