I think I am starting to feel the some problem with AMAX. It seemed that the speed is inconsistent for the past 2 days. I am staying just at the back of Lisa De Inn where they claimed the station is there. It was working well for almost a month but after reading this, I am having worries already.

Has anyone be able to contact them successfully? I tried yesterday till today. Still to no avail. Nobody picking up the phone. Is their office even open? Maybe I will drop by to see them tomorrow.

I've got that email reply as well which is just machine generated

I've just got through their customer service by calling the 03-77262629 after calling for numerous days. I spoke to the guy, they claimed that their period of restructuring involves from April till End of May. However, they will try to finish it up as soon as possible.

Anyhow, I tried calling again wanting to know how are they gonna notify us once it is up. Unfortunately, nobody is picking up the phone again. Their customer service is really almost non-existence.

Oh god.. so it means.. there wont be Internet till this Month end
I think I will be quitting AMAX and lookin for alternatives

Well, I quite like AMAX service in terms of internet speed. So I am gonna wait, in the mean time, I will just subscribe to Prepaid mobile internet and tether it via Joikuspot. A bit pricey but just temporary.

Insider news, Amax sold 70% of their base station/tower to YTL.
*
So that means shall be parked under YTL network?

Added on May 15, 2010, 1:10 pmI just went to their office. They claimed that it is gonna last till early July but no charges would be made. I asked whether this is company restructuring or network restructuring, the staff said network restructuring which in my opinion makes no sense coz it could have been done in stages and should not involve the hiatus of the whole network. I asked if any extra charges to cancel the subscription. They said no but the RM100 registration fee will not be return. That's it, I am would unsubsribe, no point to drag on.

The staff that I spoke to in the office insisting that they are going through a network restructuring but I personally think that they are actually going through a corporate restructuring.

They have already inform all subscribers that they will not bill their subscribers from May onwards. In other words, service will not be available from May onwards until further notice.

Mind you, not all has been informed. I for one wasn't informed until my service was out. And the reply I've gotten so far varies from their staffs. Some claimed until end of May. Some claimed until early of July.

2 years deal? Amax operates less than 2 years by now.  How to reach 2 years?
*
Abang, when you signed the deal for 2 years. The modem is given as free and no extra charges was made on the billing. Of course, now that they have this problem, you can just unsubscribe.
