Just applied for Amax.
Since I live in Taman Tun, I guess it won't take long before I can start using their service.

Just now AMAX had some sort of launching in Taman Tun. They opened their first store there I think? It was raining though, so I didn't drop by.

When will AMAX cover Bukit Damansara?
And is it true that TTDI Hills is not covered? (According to the coverage map in www.amax.my)

According to the website it's still available (can see it when you try to register). According to the AMAX agent that I spoke to around last week the last day is March 31st 09.

No offense bro, but your answer had a very big difference with what i saw on Amax website. Until now, Amax still claimed that they can cover entire Klang Valley by 2009, i also received email regarding the coverage issue saying that my area is in their schedule of expansion(Taman Rakan close to SG.Long)
But from your reply, it seems that u don't have confidence for that?
*
Even Amax's very own 'hometown', TTDI is not fully covered, according to their website.
Oh and I find it strange that TTDI Hills is barely covered since Dato Ghani of Amax lives here.

I wanted to subscribe to Amax a few months back. Went to their TTDI hotspot, was told they will send someone over to check the coverage. I specifically told the guy to call me first before coming. He said okay. Without calling me, their technician came to my house when I was at work. According to my surprised (since he came from out of the blue) family members he did the test in front of the house and in my room.

And that was that. I was thinking of getting a follow-up call or something like that. It's either there's really no coverage or someone's just slacking off.

don't let one bad fruit bring bad name to the whole farm~ allow me to tell u that no ISP is perfect~ take a look at how many threads are up complaining about Streamyx, P1, Celcom, Maxis~ u choose the best one that suits u~ that is my advise~

i apologize on behalf of Amax for the guy going over to your place~

Do you stay at Bukit Damansara, it's not covered yet~
Nope, I live in TTDI, TTDI Hills to be exact. I work at Bukit Damansara.

hey sexualpower...
although my area is out of coverage...but can i have a 7 days free-trial?
im live at section 20/5

This 7 day free trial is not free per se. You'd have to pay first, and if you're unhappy with the service they will refund you.

darenlks,
The answer is 'yes'. Unless you get the business package with fixed ip.
Quote below from previous page.

QUOTE(hongchai888 @ Aug 28 2009, 07:01 PM)
Just called Amax customer service, they confirmed to me the ip constantly changes issue is due to Amax using microwave technology.....

I will return the modem with a very sad emotion because their services are extremely good compare with other ISP...... Is just that i am a heavy Rapidshare downloader and VPN user.

anyone of you have prob downloading from megaupload?
it always showed that my ip add is currently dl-ing something, please try again later etc.  sad.gif

Read the previous pages. Around 3 pages back I think?

You're basically screwed with megaupload, rapidshare or the like unless you subscribe to the premium package that comes with a static IP.
Reason being, IIRC, Amax uses microwave technology and the ip constantly change.
