Hey, I hope you guys can help me out. This is my first time Vmodding and I would like to know if there's anything I should know before Vmodding like the current voltages and what not.
My question is how to pencil mod my graphic card. I've seen some guides but its different on my card. I'm using Palit 7600GT 256mb card. Will upload the picture soon if needed thanks biggrin.gif

Ahh...you're still awake, below is the codes you requested. Not sure if its 100% correct cause its kinda small.

I could only see the codes on 2 of the big chips which is

APW7055
MJ101

744CT08D
BB980 03
Un60635E

I also checked the small ones if you need them

WV3

103
102
512
222

Thanks ! btw my motherboard has a feature to increase the voltage, is it dangerous? it said it will lower my cards life span, is the volt mod related to this?

Thanks ! but could you please clarify to me the term IC, is it the code on the big black thing? Sorry i'm new to this.
How do I check if the blue spots are connected to the leg? and the green spots grounded? They all don't look connected to me.
Thanks. smile.gif. Oh and about the voltage settings found in my motherboard, its AGP voltage.

wow, trying vMOD without a multimeter... basically same as going battle without bringing guns...

btw, voltmodding a 7600gt wont bring much effect, at least to new games. voltmod a 7900, 8800, 3850, 4800 will gain much more.

experimenting on 7600 is good choice thought smile.gif

Yeah, my card is pretty old and I can't take the low fps anymore biggrin.gif and about the AGP voltage settings in my bios, is it dangerous to increase it?

ok i poked around the places mentioned, all the readings seems to be the maximum on the meter. I poked blue to blue and green to green according to your picture but for the second picture i can't find the second green spot for me to check.

I rechecked the numbers again and found that I made a mistake

the numbers are as stated below

APW7065
MJ101 B

74HCT08D
BB980 03
Un60635E

Left Picture small IC
either 018 or 810 i can't tell (top)
a square for the bottom

Right Picture small IC
358

Thanks alot !

Resistance meaning the OHM?
Just read the multimeter guide biggrin.gif checking now.

Edit: Just checked it, all seems to be maximum on the meter. Thanks tongue.gif

Ok i measured again but this time i swapped the red and the black tip of the multimeter and this is what i got.

readings for the first picture with X1k and the black tip at the IC leg
16 20
20 20

readings for the first picture with X1k and the red tip at the IC leg
1 1
1 1

readings for the first picture with x10
3 60
60 60

for the second picture I could only find 1 reading which is the green spot to the IC leg on x10 the rest is all maximum even if i swap here and there.

3.5

Thanks.

YAY! you're back ! Ok, I've seen videos of people checking the voltages, is it similar to checking resistance? They place the black tester into one of the pc's power output and the red to test stuff. I did my testings over and over by placing the red on the IC's leg and black one on the spots mentioned by you or vice versa, seems to be maximum for some reason, what am I doing wrong? i set the meter to the green one which is OHM X1k and X10. I'm reading the green numbers for the results. Thanks for your patience =)

Hey again ! tongue.gif Attached a picture as requested from before to clarify. For the voltage check, where am I suppose to place the red probe? smile.gif I just randomly touched some parts and my monitor turned off wink.gif had to restart.

I keep getting like a spark and monitor turns off when i touch anything with the probe. Anyway I checked the resistance while the card was out. I was referring to checking voltages.

Couldn't get a single reading from the tips of the parts mentioned in the blue area. hmm...

Sorry for the late reply, I still couldn't find the right point to test the vmems and vgpu. Anyway i penciled the 2 points you asked me to check before and it worked. My idle temps increased and was running well. Managed to overclock quite abit and stable so I decided to make it permanent. So I rubbed off the graphite and redo the shading and it seems that it become unstable.
