hi guys, i would like to ask something, hope somebody here can help me.
i recently bought a 320ghb hdisk and intended to replace my current existing 80gb in the PS3. i learned that to maintain all data that i got (save data, music, video, etc) i need to backup 1st to another/external hard disk with sufficient capacity. my question is, the backup is actually an image of the 80gb hard disk rite? if i do it the other way around, is it do-able? meaning that i pull out the 80gb, then put in 320gb. when i do this, i believe the ps3 will ask me to format the hard disk, rite? after i formatted the 320gb, if i choose to restore data from the original 80gb that i put inside an external harddisk enclosure, can i use it to restore data to the 320 hard disk? thanks This post has been edited by ravemaster: Nov 29 2008, 07:59 PM |

i read acougan post earlier, but his steps require the usage of PC space rite? my 1.5TB PC hard disk now left 12Gb only, not enough to temporarily hold the backup data
i am asking if straight swap. new 320gb hard disk put inside ps3 and i use the original 80gb to restore data to the 320gb. thanks. edit: ok, i re-read your post. i guess need to copy to PC 1st then. thanks for the explanation vorchiel one more question, should i just replace the 80gb 320gb without restoring, is it possible that i can reuse the 80gb later. let say perhaps after few months using the 320gb, suddenly it malfunction. can i just put in back the 80gb without having to reformat it?
