QUOTE(nonamekid @ Nov 18 2008, 09:02 AM) My PS3 just broke down, so I will go to Singapore and claim the warranty in this weekend. I would like to ask where is the place or address to claim warranty in Singapore? Is the place open at Saturday and Sunday? How long does it takes from them to check and solve the problem for me? My PS3 problem is "unable to read the blu-ray disc" and lastly what do I need to bring for the warranty process? Those who know it and experience it before, please share you experience to me. Much appreciated. Going to Singapore I see? 1. I would like to ask where is the place or address to claim warranty in Singapore? The place to claim warranty for your PS3 in Singapore is at The Sony Service Center in Wisma Atria, Orchard Road. It is at Level 4 iinm. After you found the Sony Center, just proceed to the Warranty Claims counter, past the Electronics on your left, and past the sports outlet (not Sony) on your right. 2. Is the place open at Saturday and Sunday? Yup. Until 7 o'clock. Again, iinm. 3. How long does it takes from them to check and solve the problem for me? I would say it takes 5 to 7 working days. For me, I brought for repair on Sat/Sun and they called me on Thurs/Fri for pickup. I usually tell them, thanks for acknowledging me and will proceed for pickup on the following Sat/Sun. 4. My PS3 problem is "unable to read the blu-ray disc" and lastly what do I need to bring for the warranty process? Bring your PS3 (duh) and your receipt of purchase. Although this is not important, this is just for proof in case they ask. ** REMEMBER, YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR PS3 via their website before making any warranty claims. You can do so here: http://asia.playstation.com/sg/en/support/...ntyRegistration (This is true for PS3 SG only). ** ** LAST but not least, BEST OF LUCK !! ** |

Well, if you have lost your receipt, do the following:
Sony cust service: "Oi, where's your receipt? Let's have a look shall we?" nonamekid: "oh, this one my aunty give me present for mah bday laa. not receipt ley" For KO lens, I highly doubt they will exchange a brand new one for you. All they will do is change the BD drive. In other words, they repair for you lah. Hope it helps |

Don't get your hopes too high about the "change whole new set ps3" part because they do not simply replace any faulty PS3 that comes through with a shiny new one unless deemed necessary (i.e cases of no display / no LAN).
What will they do is check what's wrong with your PS3 and then proceed with the repair. And for lens problem, a simple change the BD drive should make your ps3 fine again. |

why? whats wrong? what address? have you registered for warranty yet or not?
FYI, when you register for warranty, you NEED to give a VALID Singapore address and a VALID Singapore contact no. Don't simply key in 69-A, Suka Hati Street, SG 123456 , 0298765432 I think address not that important la because they won't ask that much. You just need to confirm with them that your address you keyed in during the warranty registration on the PlayStation website tallies with the one they display on their system. BUT contact no must be valid to make you reachable to them once the repair is done. This post has been edited by TheUndead: Nov 18 2008, 11:41 AM |

nonamekid, it is advisable you follow cosa_nostra's route to warranty claim seeing you don't have a valid singapore address. Go to where you bought your ps3, and ask them whether they can help make a warranty claim. Be prepared to pay any charges though.
To make this more clear, because our sets are parallel imports (SG set) and during that time we purchase, PS3 is not yet launched officially here, all SG sets are expected to be bought from within Singapore *only*. This is why I said the address and contact number must be valid. I have an idea, why don't you ask the shop you bought your PS3 to give you a Singapore address n contact no. When Sony calls you, they will call the shop, and then the Shop call you to say that your PS3 is ready. Tapi ini macam leceh la, have to use orang tengah. |
