Guys,i bought a VGA box (unknown brand-magic box) and tried to hook it up to my PS3 with my samsung 943NWX and i couldnt get a picture. The samsung light was blinking blue but when i changed the box setting to PC,it shows my computer being on. When i switch it to monitor (meaning PS3,nothing happens-light blinks).

Any idea whats wrong..? Is there a better way to connect my PS3 to my monitor? My monitor only has the VGA function btw.I connected the PS3 with the component cable and the component cable into the VGA box,then from VGA box to the monitor... What am i doing wrong?

Any good brands I could try for the VGA box? Any other cables im missing out? Is there something i must do to the PS3 before trying? Must i change PS3 settings before connecting?

Uh-oh...already left the PS3 in my condo...No TV to change with...

But if i remember correctly,the setting was already the lowest. However,i think it was : composite/standard NTSJ...

Yours makes sense because you are reducing from a higher resolution. But mine upgrading from the lowest ,shouldnt be a problem

AHHHH,i give up with the VGA boxes!! I tried 3 from all different places and none worked according to what i wanted!!!

1. First one i bought (game-earth), after connecting everything,no picture/image when PS3 turned on. Returned it.

2. Second one,(mayflash),worked but it was using composite cables so the whole purpose defeated,could only get 480i resolution. Returned it.

3. Third one,everything seemed almost certain to work because i followed EVERYTHINGGGG Vorchiel and Kazasho said. Went to a shop recommended by kazasho and this time i brought my PS3 and monitor along. Set everything up,then that one also had a problem (model 2168).
After fixing everything,switch it to Rg Y Pr(thats the only option besides PC) or something mode,monitor says some thing about optimum resolution being 1440x900. Thats all,no signal from PS3 or anything...

This rant is for those planning to get a VGA box. And also to know if anyone's selling a 2nd hand monitor or LCD tv that supports HDMI/DVI

(Btw,is there something wrong with my PS3...?)

Ohh,okay. Yea,the console method really slow. And the worst part,it'll sometimes get an error...So all the hours spent waiting will be wasted.

Hey guys,need help again,about the same issues

Im planning to buy a LCD monitor to connect my PS3 and ive already given up hope on the VGA box so im looking for one with either DVI with HDCP compatibility or straight with HDMI ports.

Im not sure which model or brand is good and was hoping to get some input on a model thats cheap (second hand preferably and around the RM700 region)

Does anyone know any brands around that price?
