You're using Pwnage or Winpwn???

If Pwnage, just follow the instruction from pwnage 2.0..I had problem too before, but after following the steps one by one, then I able to put my iPhone on DFU mode...

Perhaps this will help you...good luck

Are you still on firmware 1.x?

I had this same problem with not being able to go into DFU mode. Then I restored to firmware 2.0 and it worked after that.

2nd) i tried all possible solution

1) Home+on/off @ 10seconds "bypass the slide to power off" and release only on/off button and keep holding home button till pc recognize its on dfu mode.
2) Force to DFU using Ziphone

Is this two on your possible solution? Or perhaps your on/off button malfunctioning.... For most user, the home+on/off is the easiest and confirm method but i believe there also a lot of them fail this and get irritated. However, keep trying and all the best!! icon_rolleyes.gif

u can also try restoring to 2.0.1 1st.. then try masuk DFU from there?

i am not sure if that could work but if u already wanted to upgrade to 2.0.1, why not give it a try. after all, if u successfully upgrade to 2.0.1, you can enter DFU from there ( well, at least i did tried by mistake that restore to 2.0.1 original instead of pwned one, and went into DFU mode and restore again using the custom 2.0.1)

i take no responsibility for any problem caused.

after gathering feedbacks, sometimes the culprit can be as simple as entering the 'proper' DFU mode.

sounds tedious, but try using the counter second of a watch or clock. makes a huge different i reckon.

maybe TS can try my recommendation again?

good luck!

i never use clock counter. i just start counting when i start pressing button. 10 sec release on button; hold home until PC recognize it then release home, itunes recognize DFU mode...

not sure if it varies from one iphone to another...

@TS
U will get another 100 times error 6 if u still restore in restore mode. Its been told to restore in DFU mode. BTW did u use iPwner to pwn itunes first?

How to go to DFU mode?
1. Connect phone to itunes
2. Turn off phone (press power button until slide to turn off).
3. After phone turn off, simultaneously press power+home button and count 10 secs.
4. After 10 secs, release the power button and keep holding the home button.
5. After a while, itunes will detect the the in DFU mode and it will prompt to restore the phone.
6. The screen of the phone should be black with no graphics/nothing. Thats DFU mode.

Hope that helps you.

iLiberty DFU is not the true DFU mode. Same with ZiPhone or other tools. The only way to get true DFU is by sleep(power off)+home button for 10 secs.

I don't like counting the 10 sec stuff so I'm using this method
give it a try if u still cannot get into DFU mode

QUOTE
Make sure your PC speakers are turned up so that you can hear them. Make sure your phone is turned on and connect it to the PC. You'll hear the device connect sound. Now, hold in both buttons...power and home. Hold them for about 10 seconds and you'll hear the device disconnect sound. As soon as you hear it release only the power button. Do not let go of the home button. After 5-10 seconds, you should hear the device connect sound again. Let go of the home button and you are in DFU. There will be nothing on the screen, but iTunes will pick up the phone in recovery mode."
