Let's see what the critics say... QUOTE
"Black Box have taken little in the way of risks but it's not faultless - the streets can feel quite empty (depending on race type) and the framerate can get a bit juddery. But you can't say that EA hasn't given us what we asked for. "
- Xbox World 360 UK
Could not agree more. At times, the streets are deserted. And there are occassional slowdowns. But it is still damn fun. No question about it.

Need for Speed returns to its roots with hokey cutscenes, wild cop chases, and solid racing action.
- GameSpot on Xbox 360 version
Yes. It returns to top form... but its not without flaws. The cut scenes are great, the cop chases are intense, and the races themselves are very Most Wanted / Underground 2 / Carbon feel.
QUOTE
Need for Speed Undercover makes a good attempt to recapture the visceral sense of racing that the series made its name on.

NFS Undercover certainly brings back the solid feel of racing like the Underground - Carbon series.

A good time can be had, but only if you're patient...and a really big fan of Most Wanted.
- Official Xbox Magazine
Most Wanted was definitely one of the best arcade style racing games I've played. Since then we'd have other games like PGR3 and Forza. But in terms of 'Need For Speed' franchise - NFS Undercover returns to its winning form.
QUOTE
As a mashup of :Need for Speed: Carbon" and "Need for Speed: Most Wanted", Undercover is ultimately fairly successful.
- 1Up.com
Definitely. Its Carbon + Most Wanted. Its daytime racing too, so the reflections on the car is more... noticable. And easier on the eyes...
My conclusion thus far... NFS Undercover returns to its winning formula albeit not being a perfect attempt at doing so. Still, any racing fan can extract enough fun to last the game. This post has been edited by defaultname365: Nov 20 2008, 07:02 PM
