My dad will be sending over the iPhone 3G from New Zealand.. Just want to know whether I can activate my iPhone with a valid Australian Account which i trick iTunes on giving me..

yes u can....but u'll have some problem sending it, NZpost requires the battery to be taken out from the iPhone before sending

i think my dad bought in from Vodafone NZ.. the battery i think is included.. but staff member told my dad it is "better" to activate with NZ Vodafone sim inside.. Weird.. Can someone clarified this? I wanna activate it with my Hotlink.

Of cause the battery is included =.=. The battery is not removable without leaving some damage to the phone case. Thus u're dad will have some problem sending it to Malaysia.

and like i said before, u can activate it using ur hotlink on which ever countries' itunes.

btw, do use the search function or read the "Newbie Thread" as i think this question has been asked before...

if u want to know how to take the battery out, there is a guide in ifixit.com i think
