very risky i reckon to purchase an american unit.
but seeing that you are happy with it, i guess that is the most important thing.
thanks for the field report.

@ davidgary73
add australian Aifontriji units as well as they unlocked by nature. however the concept is the same as HK (sign a contract first and then worry about terminating later) |

QUOTE(jakesean @ Aug 19 2008, 10:23 AM) australian's iphone 3g isnt unlocked by nature.. have to call up the service provider to get the unlock code.. of course i know that jakesean. as a matter of fact both optus and telstra have different charges to obtain the unlock codes.but at least there is a chance to unlock them though it is getting relatively harder to do that (i have a friend scouting australia stores now as we speak but the prospects are looking rather dim) |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Aug 19 2008, 10:49 AM) @nokia2003, Oh when i said stores, i meant the telco stores and not apple stores. after a relatively clear day from @#%^s (since it's taboo to use that derogatory slur now), someone has to come in and break the rhythm.

QUOTE(jeffhakase @ Sep 8 2008, 11:55 PM) EA have announced a boat load of new games coming to the iPhone really soon. The App Store has taken a lot of criticism since launch day about the quality of the applications and I have always thought it would take 6 - 12 months for developers to start to produce top quality apps and games. With this announcement at least it looks like we are going to see some great new games. The full list is Yahtzee Adventures, Mini Golf, Lemonade Tycoon, Mahjong, Monopoly: Here & Now The World Edition, SimCity, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09, Need for Speed Undercover , and The Sims 3. Also Spore should be in the App Store this weekend, Sunday to be precise. Full press release after the break. please quote the source if this wasn't written by you. show some respect to the author. |

GSM <-- WAP <-- GPRS <-- EDGE <-- 3G <-- HSDPA of course there were a few systems that didn't make it to the consumer market but that is not relevant |

perhaps i can give more insight to rx330's statement.
malaysians are somehow not comfortable with the fact the iphone GPS map is not stored inside as for most PDA and conventional enabled GPS phones do not work this way. hence to answer qsil, the map on the iphone (and also for the blackberry phones) needs to stream in real time over the net. however as mentioned previously, if you have decided to JB your aifontrigi, there is an app which enables you to store the map offline. good luck! |

it breaks my heart to learn that humans can sink themselves so low to even contemplate doing something like that.
if you can't afford one, then please don't even bother I love iPhones from the bottom of my heart and will therefore save up all I can to purchase it. This post has been edited by nokia2003: Sep 10 2008, 12:42 PM |

i'm in a pretty joyful mood to help despite having the signature below (i'm stuck to a pact)
for FW 2.0 onwards, there is a feature in "settings" to copy contacts from the SIM card (however there is no such feature for the vice versa way) |
