QUOTE(hoongji @ Aug 20 2008, 06:16 AM) if your sons are the 2nd generation PR, then they have the decision on either serving the NS (granted citizenship automatically afterwards) or renounce the PR without serving NS. LOL, wtf i was so blur?! LOL, this is a clear case of mistaken identity. i'm not string anyway, all names updated i think it's partly due to stringfellow is another pilot in this forum. |

ya.
most of the packages come with free USB modem. you have to use another USB device to do that, it can be used as USB modem and network switch. |

Is there any way I can claim back the tax money? 15% is friggin crazy. go to IRAS website to contact them (through feedback or email)they need some proof on your new job though, ie: new work pass/employment letter/employment verification letter. i got the cheque after appeal about 3-4 weeks. QUOTE(kmao @ Oct 29 2008, 12:25 PM) @Joshua save more to survive lah.thanks for that, but i'm worried i cant even survive a month in singapore with my savings, and that i wonder does sg companies pay more to fresh grad than companies in KL? i mean, is that a wise choice for a fresh grad to start his career in SG rather than KL? or a fresh grad should get at 2 years working experience before trying luck in SG? again please stop asking us to spoonfeed information to you, it's already repeated hundred times in this and previous thread. |

U keep on job hopping that means u not on contract izit? confirm no blacklist. Are you in sales since you can job hop so often? No need job commitment. i also resigned before 3 months no problem whatsoever. but please take note that if you leave the company before 189days, IRAS will charge you 15% income tax. you can get the money back if you just change employer in sg. currently working in aviation industry based in Changi. our GM just have a talk with us last week, our company profit is slightly decreased. guess we are not badly hit by recession atm. |

QUOTE(crapp0 @ Nov 9 2008, 10:19 PM) Thats 15% only apply for those who pay income tax, but it should be no prob for those who dont need to pay income tax right? yeah, afaik S pass holder confirm will kena.Yea, usually recession will only trickle down next year, unless you get overseas contracts which last a couple of years, then should be able to weather the financial downturn. not sure about income tax for EP and work permit. i just know nicvoo also kena. i got the refund after appeal with IRAS. |

QUOTE(WyjSwmW @ Nov 11 2008, 12:39 AM) But AFAIK, Malays will surely suffer here for what I seen so far working here. 1)my company give muslims longer break on Friday.(12.30-2.30pm)1) Companies normally won't tolerate Malays to go for Fridays prayers unless you are willing to skip ur lunch for prayers. 2) Very hard to find mosques to pray unlike in Malaysia unless you are so lucky able to find one just opposite ur office. 3) For makan, it's a bit difficult for faithful Malys bcos normally food courts sells pork rice... the next stall can sell halal food.... and some of my frens even say SG got halal punya babi... 4) I have even heard bosses here in SG prefer more Chinese than Malays bcos they know Mandarin.... but the fact is many Malays dunno Mandarin.... That's why I am asking some Malays here to give some advice bcos my Malay fren is interested to earn some SGD in SG.... 2)there is a mosque 10 minutes away. 3)we have malay stall in our company, there is another malay stall at a food court nearby. |

i think you should get either singtel or starhub.
2mbps speed is enough for your daily use. since you wont use it for torrent, 50gb data limit for singtel wont be an issue. better stay away from m1, i heard lotsa complaints from users. |

QUOTE(crapp0 @ Dec 13 2008, 10:20 PM) Izit? I have a colleague whos using the m1 and she says its only slow from 7pm-9pm. After that its ok. Izit 50gb data limit for singtel? I thought it was lower then that, and isnt singtel blocking torrents like tmnet? you should check it out here, a lot of people complaining about M1 broadband.I heard a rumour that next year all of the mobile broadband speeds will be upgraded. So if i sign up now, i wouldnt be able to enjoy the benefits of these faster speeds? http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/forumdisplay.php?f=4 singtel don't block torrents, i used to download torrent few weeks ago. i think you will be able to enjoy the benefit just like what singtel did on my plan. they automatically upgrade my speed without additional charge. |

QUOTE(MPIK @ Dec 14 2008, 03:33 PM) For this it is cheap oso, but maybe not 25%, perhaps it's around RM320 if not mistaken. Bcos last month, I just bought all hardwares from MY and assemble it in SG. Total cost is RM3566 but if the same rig same specs, it is around $1,700++ and bcos in Sim Lim I heard alot of tipu case as well, means non-ori parts. hmm...just checked, indeed it's around the same.last time i used to compare the price, some of SLS hardwares are cheaper than LYP. how come now become most of the pc stuff is more expensive now? maybe due to US currency rate? |
