Yes, If the Net household Income cannot more than 8k ceiling for apply hdb will be have quite big different as gross household income cannot more than 8k.
The 10k gross salary here refer is for household and not personal(each personal cap at 4500 for CPF)and I forget about the CPF cap at 4500. thanks for that.
However, if net household income <= 8k mean , husband and wife total gross salary can be almost 10k as well. Eg 4.9k each - 950each  =3950*2 =7900.

This is the thing on my mind because some of calculation in Singapore is calculate base on net income(deduct cpf) like Income Tax.

So, anyone have any idea on this? Anyone bought HDB b4?

First of all, Singapore PR couple is only allowed to buy HDB from re-sale market. Thus, the $8k income ceiling does not apply to resale HDB flat.

Of course, if happens that your spouse is a citizen, you may apply for grant (re-sale HDB) or subsidized (new HDB). In this scenario. the 8k household income ceiling is applicable. By the way, I think the ceiling is refering to gross income which is before CPF.

Hi There,

I'm new to this forum. Anyway, I would be relocating to Sg end of this month and currently looking for a place to rent. I would be working at Thompson road closer to the Toa Payoh MRT station. Looking for a place around there. I've been told areas such as Toa Payoh, Bradell, belstier Rd are good for renting with lively neighbourhood. Just wanted to get your opinions on this. I'm looking to rent a room for now until i get a hang of Singapore.

Any feedback would be welcomed!

I stayed in a 3-room HDB near Braddel MRT station before. The location is convenience and near to town though the place is abit old ( >30 yrs old). I heard the rental is pretty steep now. According to my ex-landlady, she is now renting the whole flat (2 bedrooms, 1 utility room) at $1700 to 5 person. That is to say, expect to pay more if you are not sharing room.

Some info on the median rental price for the whole flat @ diff location

All the best in your flat hunting.
