QUOTE(tiny @ Sep 26 2008, 11:21 AM)
Process:
1) Find a job. If you're hired, the company will give you an offer letter to sign and an EP application form to fill.
2) Company submits the application to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM needs to check if the company has exceeded hiring quota or not. Normally takes around 1 week to confirm)
3) Company receives approval and medical checkup form from MOM and they'll ask you to come over Singapore for at least 3 nights to do medical check up and collect your EP.
4) Medical checkup generally takes less than half a day. The result will be ready in 2-3 days time but if you pay extra you can collect the result the following day.
5) Once you've collected your results. Head over to MOM and submit it together with your EP form.
6) MOM will tell you to come back tomorrow to pay the processing fees (I think it's < S$100) and collect your EP.
how long does it take for the whole process to complete?
4 Days 3 Nights.
cost to apply for a working pass in singapore?
No more than S$200 (not including accommodation, travel and food)

If you've applied to a good company like for my case, they'll pay for everything when you come over (your flight ticket, 3 nights stay, food, medical checkup, EP application cost and some spending allowance). C'mon, if the company can't even afford to pay that S$200 for EP application then no point working for that company.

Hmm, wonder why i no need to go for medical checkup when i apply my EP hmm.gif

I'm using phoenix IDD card. 8 dollar can call up to 2 - 2.5 hours.

Need some advise here, i'm a contract staff and currently planning to apply PR. But my agent do not want to help me fill up the Annex A and provide me the testimonal.
They says is not mandatory for PR application and is tough to apply for PR in the first year of contract as I wouldn't have worked in SG for 6 months with a 6 months valid EP.

How true is this? Did anyone try to apply in their 1st year in Singapore and got their PR?

I know ppl in 6months can apply for PR. But that was permanent staff and not on contract basis.

I waiting for 1 year to pass b4 applying for PR since my chance would be better. I heard that if you apply too soon, they will remember you and make it tougher for you to apply for PR.
*
Hmm, even for permanent staff they also need to have EP right..

QUOTE(hkhk @ Jan 2 2009, 05:15 PM)
Depend on your company. What is the agent doing there? If he the boss?

For my company, I am on 2 years contract. They require US to get PR within 6 months. I waited for my 1st month salary.. Then I apply. get the approval letter after 3months. My Company HR also don wan to fill in the ANNEX A. Then when I apply for the PR. I need to fill in the Annex myself, and write a letter to justify why I can't provide the Annex A. I remember my letter is just a few sentences.

Depend on your Education qualification and salary also.. With BSc and above will be easier.

If your EP is very short... unlikely you will get it.. Coz you need your company to provide a letter that you still working with  the same company when u apply.
*
So it is eligible to apply if my EP is lesser than 6 months? for Annex A i know is not mandatory, but it will help ica to access our application expeditiously, donno why they don't wan fill up for me.

And any idea if i can apply without the testimonial?
